I bought this for my 1998 Grand Cherokee. I could not find a complete header panel at the junk yard. So, I went this route. It's flimsy plastic. I broke a screw hole flange off of it. Be gentle. I drilled and added screws to reinforce it's mounting to the body, which helped a lot. The headlights did not line up with the adjusters, so a little gentle pushing and pulling got the screws in. It worked. If I could do it all over again, I'd lay fiberglass on the old header panel to patch it up.

Work great for my 1998 Jeep ZJ but it’s very brittle plastic so be careful installing, it also comes completely bear no bolts or parts, just the header panel itself

Installed found that the turn signal on the driver side did not have holes for the light hardware from the shipping item arrive broken and cracked but still usable had to makeshift a bracket to hold the headlight to the turn signal or else its not usable would advise to go to the local junkyard and pull a OE unit for 1/3 the price

I feel like it was a good choice for the money, some were cheaper but who knows what kind of quality they are

I ordered this part from Evan-Fischer after some recommendations. However, surprise! the part is made in Taiwan. For the price, was OK. Used parts from junk yards go more expensive. The part came packed very well to avoid damages. I even used the shock absorbing white packing to help me reinstall the bumper fascia. Now, with the part: 1) See first picture. Before you throw away the damaged part, remove the lever adjusters, and the low side pivot (you need to turned to remove it), and when doing this, do not mix them. One suggestion: remove every lever and pivot and install it on the new header, one by one. And both lamp sides need just to pry open a small hole for the side marker light. 2) See picture 2. You need to reinstall a foam sitting it came with the old part where the main headlight sits and connects. Just cut some foam to the right size and width, and make a hole in the middle. Use silicone glue to attach the foam to the panel. 3) see picture 3. Move in and fit the panel, securing it to the body in the five points, two in either side, using bolt sliding fastener (saved when removed old part). I needed to install a corrugated aluminum panel because of my damaged defense, but the original defense has the hole on it with a installed nut. So, my center bolt goes into my aluminum panel, yours probably go into the defense itself. 4) See picture 4. Now to finish all, secure the bumper fascia (do not forget the foam, if its broken better replace it) with six fasteners, three fit the installed header panel, the other fit under the radiator (now the white packing stuff is useful), and the other six fit on the sides to secure the front mud panel. 5) See picture 5. Install the grill, remembering that the new header panel is made of softer plastic than the original, so get stainless screws that fit to install it, two on top and two on the top side of the outside panel of the grid. One final touch. Start the car to check nothing rattles. That's it. It made it a nice Saturday project. After that top your work with a nice barbecue o ride your fixed to a place to enjoy the sunset.

Made of very cheap and cheesy plastic. A couple of screw holes where missing- had to drill myself. Appears during the molding extra plastic squeezed into the hole plugging it up, since some of the hole was formed, just on wrong side to start screws. Be careful handling if you buy this and be prepared to adapt to make things work. Also, 2 lower holes for grill where too large compared to OEM, had to use different screws to secure. This is reasonable replacement if you don't want to spend a lot of money.

Fit great, headlights popped right in like they were supposed to. Had to use my old gross adjustment screws from the broken panel. I also need to droll or start a couple screw holes to finish mounting my side marker lights. All in all felt like it was fairly well made and good quality. Only time will tell if it holds up.

fit was very good not perfect but very good. material was a bit softer, (more rubbery) than original, that could be just an age thing. this is a one piece plastic part, absolutly nothing else ships with it so save everything from your old panel, or at the very least order one of each type headlight adjusters , (should need 2 of each type)
