Update: after closer examination the harp is not perfectly alignment. Left side angle is grater and right side is sharper.I used to have one of these as a kid. Perfect way to get back into music.Only negative is that policies of paper do not perftly fit into open space.

All the grandchildren love to make music on this. Simple to play, you and tune it when necessary. I only wish it came with a hard case we got with ours when our children were small, instead of the soft case.

I purchased the lap harp for my 10 yr old granddaughter as a Christmas gift. It was very pleasing to me to see the other three granddaughters (ages 8, 14 & 16) want to try it out.The sound was very pleasing and it wasn’t long before each of them mastered playing the harp. It is well-worth the price and seems to be well-made.

My special needs grandchild is not able to play a MusicMaker, but she loves having it played for her. The sounds are soothing and tunes are easy to play by the adults who care for her. My daughter had a MusicMaker when she was a child and I was delighted to find that the instrument was still available.

This was just what I wanted. I love the songs that came with it and even though there was a slight snag, the pick and tuning key weren’t in the box- the company sent me both as soon as I contacted them.

I have gifted a lap harp to many children (and one adult who didn't think she could play music) as a way of introducing them to music theory or to develop musicality. After they become proficient on the lap harp then they are ready to start learning an actual instrument. This is a much easier and less threatening instrument to start on, anyone can do it and have success immediately.

When I was a kid this was a common item in homeschooling stores my mom took us too. I always fondly remembered playing on these odd instruments. They are easy to play. You simply slide the card under the strings and pick above the notes indicated. The challenging part is tuning the instrument. I'm a drummer and a piano player but I only have the basic concept of stringed instruments. Tuning this one is time consuming for me and the kids play it too hard. So it would need to be tuned regularly.
