I used this record book this past year and I really wanted to love it because the style is adorable. I love the colors and the overall design "vibe." But unfortunately there are a handful of factors that make it difficult to use as a grade book.The first issue is that, while the color palette is beautiful, the colors are way too dark. If you record grades in pencil (and who doesn't?!) you can barely even see them over the colored squares. I had to start putting my grades in using pen just so I could see them easily. In a similar vein, there is no specific place at the top of the pages to write what class the page is for, so you just have to write it over the design, and unless you do it in marker (which bleeds through to the other side) it's difficult to see.The second issue is that the space for writing assignment names is way too small! I had to abbreviate assignment names so much to fit them in that I would sometimes forget what assignment I was referring to.The third issue is that there is only one blank box beneath the assignment name, so you can't record both the total number of points and the date it was due. I started putting the points in that box and writing the date the assignment was due above the assignment, but there's not much blank space so again you're writing on the highly saturated colors and what you write is hard to see. (Plus it just looks messy.)This is a little thing, but I hate that each row is numbered so obtrusively. I teach very small classes, and I actually use 2-3 lines per student name because I often assign a code as well as a grade to each assignment, and if the student redoes or corrects an assignment I like having a place to put the new grade while still keeping the original one. Thus the numbers not only are useless to me, but they take up space and add clutter to an already-cluttered design. If the numbers were on the far left of the name field then that would be easier to deal with.Lastly, the wire binding is frustrating. It really needs to just be a spiral and not whatever this is. The little teeth get snagged on things and pulled out of alignment, and then when you fold the book open to record grades the pages start slipping off the binding.This would be great as an attendance book, but as a grade book it is not practical at all.

I love this grading book. As someone who grades prep courses, it's nice to be able to have a flexible and easy book to make fit my easy criteria while still being cute and not just your solid cover floppy grade books.

I teach 3rd - 8th Math, Science, and Social Studies. It works really well to record my grades. All of the grades have to be recorded on line. I just circle the grade after I record it online.

The notebook itself is a little flimsy wish it had harder covers but it’s super cute! And I love it!!!!

Although we enter grades and attendance electronically, I like having all of the information on a hard copy. There are 36 spaces to enter students on each page. I like the different colors on the lines, it helps me keep track of the data I am entering for each student, especially when writing on the facing page. I like how bright all the colors are (I'm an art teacher). This is the favorite record book I ordered.

There are plenty of pages in here for what I need to do. I would like the covers to be made of a harder material but besides that, it's good.
