MicroSealant

What is MicroSealant?

  • MicroSealants are a family of sealants that contain no double bonds between carbon atoms, but are comprised of a single bond between carbon atoms which result in a molecular structure that is extremely stable and is resistant to oxygen, ozone, and heat.
  • MicroSealant tapes are formulated from synthetic polymers and contain a proprietary built-in primer that facilitates instant bonding to most known materials used in: transportation, roofing and the traditional building envelope.
  • MicroSealants have an extremely wide temperature tolerance. When properly installed, MicroSealants will bond to almost any selected substrate, resulting in a waterproof seal. MicroSealants are self-healing. MicroSealants are extremely robust to a wide range of surface condition reducing steps during installation.
  • MicroSealant - contains no solvents due to its completely VOC-free proprietary primer and will not compromise air quality within the building envelope.

Why Use EternaBond?

  • EternaBond bonds to virtually any surface except silicone. This includes all roofing materials, brick, wood, metal, stucco, rubber, vinyl, canvas, etc. So EternaBond is the perfect repair product for buildings, RV's, tents, sheds, canoes, tarps, etc.
  • Also, EternaBond has an expected life (depending on where you live) of 18-35 years exposed to the weather. EternaBond has a 5-year shelf life so if you don't use it all at once it will be ready when you need it.
  • Finally, EternaBond is the choice of professional RV mechanics, roofing technicians and professional maintenance mechanics.

What makes EternaBond different?

  • EternaBond is a MicroSealant. MicroSealant has a unique molecular structure which makes them extremely stable, almost invisible to the degrading effects of nature, resulting in extremely long repairs and shelf life.
  • This unique structure also makes all EternaBond tapes compatible with almost all other materials except silicone.

Had a few tears in RV canvas roof and decided to use a primer spray to help tack up the surface since my canvas is so dirty. Clean your surface as best you can, then spray this primer on and ready in seconds to apply your butyl tape. It sprays easy and does not clog the spray button. Easy to use. I think this helps especially on canvas and surfaces. This name brand is WORTH it! Other brands are less reliable.

This spray really made my RV roof and sealant tacky. I bought it because I thought since I spent all the time cleaning and prepping this would help. I also did not want eternabond tape not to stick completely (the tape is incredible for adhesion already) on the old sealant.Well, I did 5 openings and then ran out of spray so I decided to just finish the job without spray around last stack pipe. The eternabond adhered well still and I have not had any issues BUT when I used the spray you literally could see the cracks in sealant imprint on tape! Even after several weeks in the sun and a camping trip the tape still shows the cracks underneath.Again the tape where I did not spray still adhered and seems to be sealed well but it is not as “stuck” as the areas where I sprayed first.

Impressive product! I HAVE BEEN STRUGGLING WITH HOLES & RIPS IN A RUBBER ROOF & FINALLY!! SOMETHING THAT WORKS!! I use this with the 6" INCH Eternaprime Tape and it WORKS. Make sure you clean your surface well first (I use mineral spirits, or another cleaning solvent to prep the surface) The manufacturers of this product has a spray cleaner but It is too expensive in my opinion and it is basically overpriced carburetor cleaner. In conclusion- the Eternabond tape and primer are EXPENSIVE but worth it.

Went on easy. I actually needed very little to prep for my tape. I would go for the smaller spray can next time.

One of the professional roofer's industry secrets! You probably do not need a roofer if you can simply get this and apply it properly. You might need a can or two of EternaClean and EternaPrime if you applying it in the winter or in a dirty, dusty environment, but it doesn't take long to use and it holds and lasts. I had tears in the airform of my 60 foot diameter Monolithic dome house which were allowing water to leak through to the inside and used this to fix them. Some of the tears in the airform were as much as 6 feet long. No leaks whatsoever now. Also used it to seal the area around our sunscoop skylight. It has rained and snowed since I applied the stuff and not a drop has gotten inside. If you have leaks in your house, this will fix them, no matter what the outside material is made of unless it is PVC or it is wet. So be sure the area you are patching is dry when you apply it or it won't stick at all. However, once it sticks, it sticks and even if it gets soaked soon after it sticks, it will stay put. Really good stuff. If you have a leak, don't wait to fix it! If you do you can wind up with rotten wood, mold and other problems. Just buy this stuff and spend at most a few hours on it, and you'll be rid of your leaks for quite a long time.

I am finding that trying to prime surfaces (like a rubber roof) with acetone are ineffecient, ineffective and probably not even a good idea. So I finally went in for this stuff and I have to say that I think it's pretty much necessary to apply eternabond correctly. It sprays what seems to be almost like a aerosol-like version of the eternabond substance that primes the area in a really nice and sticky way that is impossible to get with other methods like deep-cleaning, acetone, sanding, etc.I think if you are bothering to get on top of your RV roof and risk your knees and your life to fix some leaks, I owe it to myself to use the easiest method possible. So I think it's worth the cost. It was for me much easier than keeping a bottle of acetone and cloth near enough to the roof area where I was working so that I could access it without spilling a container of acetone on my rubber roof (yikes!) It's much more practical to just have the bottle of Eternaprime. Perhaps the calculation is different if you are not balancing yourself on a rubber RV roof.I have seen comments where people say that this is just acetone but I have used both. Acetone is just a liquid and when rubbed, will completely remove not just the dirt, but paint and the existing rubber on your roof. As opposed to rubbing acetone on my rubber roof, this primes is by just spraying a mist of what seems like a very sticky substance although there might be acetone mixed in, this is not acetone. Here is my review of how I actually used the Eternabond on my trailer:https://www.amazon.com/gp/review/R1MYD6HPXHAQCF?ref_=glimp_1rv_cl

Hard to tell how well it works as its just the base of the application but the eternabond tape sure stuck well after. I didn't try it without it so it wins by default.
