This is a great case. Typing experience is really nice - like an old laptop full-size key experience.I have an iPad AIr 4th Gen with Apple's Magic Keyboard and this case is 95% of that experience...plus the iPad (I bought the 12.9" version of this keyboard case for an M1 Pro 12.9") is protected, unlike with the Magic Keyboard.Only ding is that the hinge, while stable (device is great on your lap or on unstable surfaces), isn't smoothly adjustable. It kind of flops between two places. The upside is, unlike Apple's case, you can actually place the iPad higher on the magnet OR in landscape. So it isn't a functional complaint, really, but more of a smooth usability issue. The trackpad works very well although it's weird being back to a physical click vs. haptic. The case wraps around the pencil, if you have one. Unlike a lot of cases, the little strap is generous and fits over a pencil with a silicon case on it - which is nice. The case into which you place your iPad, however, does not support charging of a pencil with a case. I have another EST case with the same design (no keyboard) with the same issue. It's a shame - they could easily include a cutout to allow the pencil to sit against the iPad's metal frame to assure charge. I've just cut away the plastic on both cases across the charging area. It was easy to do, does not mess with the case's structural integrity, and isn't noticable.Case is heavy, with an iPad 12.9" M1, but I'm not using the device as a portable device and so it's nice to be able to quickly move from keyboard to standalone iPad without wrestling with a case OR leaving your iPad naked and vulernable. Can't have nake iPad Pros!Nice work ESR.

This review is for the ESR keyboard case for the 2024 M4 iPad Pro 13.So, let’s start by saying this case is Exactly what I wanted for my new iPad Pro. The M4 iPad is so new, its really hard to find a good aftermarket case, but ESR seems to have read my mind and made one… a really good one albeit. There are a few nitpicks from me, but overall, this is a 5 star case. Why do want this particular case? Because I want the iPad to have a case on at all times. When it is in the keyboard case and when it’s out. ESR has made a keyboard case just for that. The iPad is essentially in a slim black case at all times, so when I remove it from the keyboard case to game or use as an iPad again, I don’t need to worry about it or have another case on standby. ESR accomplished this by making the slim case with a metal backing, so the magnets from the hinged side lock onto the slim case, not the iPad, which makes the magnetic power extremely strong. Once you snap the iPad on, it doesn’t move nor slide around. You can open, close, adjust the hinge angle without fearing your iPad will move around. Oh the slim case will also accommodate the pencil and it even has a strap that will protect the pencil when the case is closed. Overall, the case is very sturdy, well designed and built. The touchpad is excellent and the keyboard has a firm feedback which I like. Oh, the keyboard battery, yes, it has its own battery, so you don’t have to drain your iPad to use it. Yes it needs to charged, but it is also an USB-C and the battery last a long time, for weeks of use. And No it does not have a battery gauge, which at first I thought it might be worrisome, but guess what, the native battery widget on the iPad shows the keyboard battery percentage!!! This is AWESOME, see attached screen shot! Now, let me nitpick a bit… wow is it heavy. I understand with all the metal, magnets and battery, it will be heavy. I think it’s heavier than my old clunker IBM Thinkpad! But it’s something I am ok with and can live with, for all of its features. Oh, due to the weight, the keyboard does not tip over when you are using it on your lap on the couch or in bed. The weight of the battery anchors down so the iPad is not heavier than the keyboard, which is an Issue with the Apple MK, its so light that it tips over easily. The keyboard, BTW I am writing this review with it as we speak. Why does this keyboard DOES NOT HAVE A DELETE KEY??? Instead there is a screen lock key! why? It’s very frustrating that I am so used to using the delete key and every time I hit it, the screen goes blank! I will have to bring up the onscreen keyboard to use the delete key! Ugh!!! This is probably my biggest gripe with this keyboard! My recommendation to ESR would be to put the delete key back and give us one more color on the keyboard lighting, white. It has every color but white. The closest to white is cyan, which is just a lighter shade of blue! Give us pure white please!Other than that, this is an awesome keyboard case at less than 1/3 of Apple MK price! Plus its 360 protection of the iPad and onboard battery feature, it is definitely a 5 star product!

I purchased the folio keyboard for my 13 inch iPad Pro. The size is perfect for the machine, and feels like a properly sized laptop keyboard. My uses are very writing intensive, and the few weeks i have had with this have been a wonder and surprise; i did not think i would be purchasing as quality a keyboard as i had, and am incredibly happy to write on this keyboard even in comparison to USB keyboards i have. THe build is of a very high quality, and the chassis will not slip on whatever surface you keep it on. The battery life is great, i have just kept it plugged in for a fraction of the time i keep the iPad charged, and the battery lasts as long as i realistically need. I have not noticed any egregious lag, in fact the keyboard is quite quick to response even in comparison to other bluetooth keyboards i have used. The Keys all work and have as many commands as you realistically need for an iPad, with many backlighting options to customize. Though there are more protective options out there, there is a quality case that is used to connect to the folio that is itself protective, and the folio provides many angles of protection if the iPad is dropped while closed. Some have complained of their apple pencils falling out; given this, i preemptively ordered a separate pouch for the pencil, however, i have not actually needed to use it; not only is the magnetic connector strong even through the case, but the magnetic strap the encloses the folio also adds tension to keep the pen in place. The product is also easy to use and connect, with a simple pairing being all that is needed before you can turn on the keyboard having already connected the keyboard. Lastly, i am happy with the matte option. I was worried about seeing accumulated grease on my device, and while this does happen, i am happy with the grip that the matte provides my palms while typing.

Es un artículo muy estorboso, pesa más que la MacBook Pro de 16 pulgadas para un iPad

Having used the Logitech Folio case with my previous iPad, I've found this product significantly better for me. One of its standout features is the ability to disconnect the keyboard from the tablet while maintaining functionality. This adds a level of convenience and versatility. In terms of keyboard quality, it feels comparable to the Apple Magic Keyboard, though time will tell in terms of durability. The responsiveness is impressive, with an almost instantaneous connection after the tablet awakens from sleep mode. However, a minor downside is the need to charge the keyboard separately. Despite this, I haven't encountered any issues with battery life or charging so far.Overall, I highly recommend this product, particularly for those who value the combination of functionality and flexibility in their tablet accessories. It's a solid investment for anyone looking to enhance their iPad experience.

***Latest update: I reached out to ESR support and the representative, Zoe, was very understanding and resolved my issue quickly. Since they didn't have a replacement available, they issued me a full refund. This is the type of customer service that companies should strive for - speedy resolution with a human tone.**Update: I bought this in July 2023 and now it is May 2024. The power switch on the side is not responding and the keyboard will not respond to any inputs. When I plug in a USB-C charging cable, the indicator LED will light up red for 3-5 seconds and then go off. I hardly use the power switch of the keyboard out of fear that this would happen, and I usually ensure I have it sufficiently charged. I brought this on a longer trip and the battery ran out in the middle (I forgot to charge it) and now it's not switching on. Shame, it was a good keyboard while it worked. :(Delivery was speedy and packaging was pristine when it arrived. The case itself looks appropriate for a business setting as it's the usual type of black you can find anywhere but it does the job and doesn't seem to add that much weight. I will be making good use of this esr case to work on the go.First impressions:Good build qualityBacklit keys with optional brightness levels and colours are a plus for working at night or in dimly-lit environmentsKeys have good travel and are not too spongy vs other bluetooth keyboardsIpad pro bumper case seems sturdy enoughThank god for a sturdy strap that covers the pencil...I think it is a travesty for similar styled cases that cost twice the price to leave the apple pencil exposedCase itself is black and is a fingerprint magnet..it will need a good microfiber rub every now and themSome tiny flex in the keyboard deck but it can be used on your lap (you might need to move it closer to your knees for a comfortable typing angle

Replacement for original apple keyboard case. Whilst this is a bit bulkier and heavier, it works brilliantly for my 12 year old - he loves the backlights and the extra keys to control music, volume, as well as the ability to use the iPad in portrait and landscape modes.Good purchase and value for money relative to other products.
