As a long time Thomastik devotee I wasn't expecting to like these strings. I originally only bought them for a guitar I was working on because they were the cheapest flats at the time. They've now become my go to for my Jazzmaster. Still prefer Thomastiks on my hollow body but everywhere else these are my preference.

I have played these before, and recently ordered a set for setting up a new Les Paul. They slide slick! Takes a little getting used to if you, like me, also play acoustic; but they are great and have nice full tone.

I've never had trouble with Ernie Ball Strings and like playing with them. I have a brother called Ernie and he is my favourite (of the four brothers) for pretty much the same reasons.

Gray strings. The only ones I’ve found that are that light but also flats. Fair price too

I mistakenly ordered too heavy of a gauge for my mockingbird guitar. The strings needed to be turned far lower as my Floyd springs weren't strong enough. After barely any adjustments intonation is fine and this is my action height in drop C, no buzz unless you really wham the strings hard. A game changer for finger style playing

These give you the best of BOTH worlds. You get the quietness and tone of Flats but the playability of slinky’s! I will be putting these on all of my electrics. My only wish is an acoustic version of these.

These are the brightest sounding flat wound strings I have ever played. They sound almost like regular, round wound slinky’s to me. Just smoother feeling and less noise from moving your hands around the neck.I won’t be buying them again as i realize I like the slightly darker sound of Chromes. It’s not like I’m going to switch these out because I’m unhappy, but next set I’ll go back to chromes. These never stop sounding bright, brilliant and sparkly to me. I think a lot of people would love this.Ghs describes this string very well in their comparison charts. If you never tried playing flat wound strings you owe it to yourself to try some out sometime. I never went back.I would say these are amazing strings for country or rock guitar players or people wanting that ghs slinky sound, in flatwounds.Less so for Jazz guitar or players used to the conventional sound of flatwonds.A great set of guitar strings that last a long time !

My elderly father has sensitive fingers so flatwounds enabled him to keep playing a little longer than roundwounds

I decided to try these since I run Ernie Ball on my other guitars. I run flatwound 11's d'addario on my Gretsch currently. I put these on and had horrible ringing on the D string. I looked at the gauge and it said 18p, where d'addario's are 22. I had a nut cut to fit, so I guess the 18p, is too small. I also noticed these strings were really gritty. Not smooth like the d'addario strings. The sound is way different acoustically also. I will not be buying anymore of these strings.

I’ve been waiting for EB to make some super slinky flatwounds for ages.I was hoping these would marry the speed and slick feeling of chromes with the super slinky bendiness EB is known for. These feel like maybe they missed a final step in the process of polish or grinding. They feel sticky. I’m not talking about roundwound feeling, I mean there are small microscopic burs that create friction you shouldn’t be feeling.Well, that’s me anyway. EB, can you please polish these down more so they’re slippery-slide smooth? I want to feel like I’m lubed up and sliding on Teflon. These have that bend I was dreaming of, but they feel sticky or higher friction as though it could use a finer grind, polish. That friction is more so than many round wounds. I’m not sure I hope it’s just teething issues early in production. Presently they feel like GHS Precisions, which are also sticky (read through their reviews for similar feedback).I don’t care too much if they sound flat or round- they sound fine, bend great but what’s the point of a flat wound string that sounds like rounds if it feels inferior to both???

These Flatwound electric guitar strings worked to stabilize my tuning issue on my Gretsch dBL jet, with Bigsby trem, and they become softer and smoother feeling after some use.First off, I typically use .009 or .010 flats on all my guitars. I just purchased a Gretsch DBL jEt with Bigsby trem, and I couldn’t keep the guitar in tune. It was very frustrating, until I read online to jump up to .011 or higher gauge with a Bigsby trem. So I chose these flats in .011, and now my guitar plays perfectly, and always stays in tune. No need to widen my nuts slots. These fit perfectly.Second, I see persons complaining that these flats feel rough. I have used all the different flats out there, and understand why persons think these are rough, or not smooth. But once these strings are played on for an hour, all tackyness subsides, and the string prove to be smooth and slightly soft feeling. They are not soft as DAdarrio Chromes, but will come close after some good use.Third, is the .011 gauge. I love that these have an .011 on the top, and a .046 at the bottom. I don’t like big bottom strings that would typically come with a set of .011 flats, and these are unique in that the bottom strings are not overly big.Fourth, they sound great, and have a better treble response than my Chromes.I they actually bend well too!
