Copper coated steel ground rods are well made. Excellent choice for rocky soil..! Supplier is TOP SHELF. I have purchased twice.

I bought these to use in a ham radio antenna installation. They are much easier to insert as 4 ft lengths than the typical 8ft lengths. I look forward to buying more when I have to put winter receive antennas in the ground.

This is advertised as coming with the grounding clamp, but all yoy will get is the grounding rod. These small ones are not available locally but grounding an existing hot tub with a full-size 8' grounding rod is a little unhandy. They are typically 5/8" also so even if you cut them in half it's more effort to drive them in the ground with limited access.

For my electric patio fence. The soil was very wet so I drove the 'blunt end' into the ground Vs the tapored end in case there were pipes or cabling (there wasn't). I figured the blunt end would be less likely to rupture anything. This is just a copper coated rod and you need a clamp to hook to it (Amazon shows a couple styles). My clamp was a bit too large to snug up on this small dia rod so I placed a large metal bolt along side the rod and that took up the slack. There seems to be two styles of clamps available (here). One goes over the rod and cinches everything to the rod and another that clamps to the rod first and has a screw and opening to insert your wires but is bigger.
