Surprisingly accurate for the money.

Great craftsmanship for the price. No idea how they can make these things for 50.00 - standard ER40 collect set works well.Note that my set didn’t come with a spanner.

ER40 collets are great. I use them in the lathe and the mill. Having these square and hex sets allow me to use them for work holding. And they are quite handy. I haven't measured anything in terms of runout and such...but them seem to be quite accurate.

My first set had a bad lock nut, but they took care of that really fast. Just started using these in my lathe. They do have. Some advantages over a 5c collet. Then again they do have some disadvantages as well.

Not a machinist, never used these before, so no real point of reference. The nuts don't readily thread but do work, probably more finicky than they ought to be. I have a more premium nut with a bearing built into it, different source, and that goes on them easy peasy. The nuts on these has an offset machined into them that looks wrong but is by design. So far as that goes, they are not machined wrong and this is industry wide. I scratched my head at first too. ER40's are fairly large and require a fair amount of stock in the collet, keep that in mind if you doing small work mostly. ER32 collets are allot shorter.

The face of the collet was recessed to deep from the face of the nut and didn't satisfy my machining needs for a project.

I was skeptical but these are actually very nicely made, within thousandths according to my calipers. They have been invaluable for the projects I’ve used them on. If you’re working on something that is exactly critical and you’re chasing tenths then you might want to look elsewhere but for the hobbyist these are great and at a reasonable price. I just wish my shop didn’t get so humid so I could keep the rust off of them
