Several years ago when I first started riding durations that would make chamois cream beneficial, the guy at my LBS recommended ButtonHole. It smells great, feels great, lasts hours and hours and I've never had any incentive to try anything else. Great stuff!

Just to be clear, this is the spicy version. I didn't see anything on the Amazon listing or product photo that indicated that this had menthol in it. It's not too bad. The scent is nice and the cream does seem to last longer than Chamois Butt'r. Good product.

This stuff smells like mint, feels great and is superb to reduce chafing and increase comfort if you have to ride your bike 30 miles or further. As a Columbus Cyclist, I put this stuff on if I am going to Buckeye Lake, South Charleston, Dayton, Indian Lake, Mount Vernon, OH, the Tour of the Scioto River Valley, or Cincinnati. It is a bit costly but I think.it is among the best of the $18+ for 8 oz rear end creams. Cyclists frequently call it butt butter. If you need something better for the budget, go for underlying smooth or bag balm or other products that are marketed for milking cows but are similar in function if used on cyclists personal areas.

I have been riding a lot for 35 years, my wife almost the same. We have excellent hygiene, and yet still get 'bumps' on the high pressure areas if we don't use some sort of anti chafe/anti bacterial cream on chamois for longer/hotter/ sweatier rides. Over the decades we have tried many many different products and dollar for dollar Buttonhole is the best. Feels tingly so you know if you have it all over the pressure zones. Ladies, my wife does say there are zones it should Not be applied! On the very rare occasion when we have put in a lot of long, hot miles in a week and we can feel a bump starting to form, we apply Buttonhole to the spot after showering! The magic stuff in the cream will work into the bump and it heals away. Great stuff.

I have used other products for years. For the past year, I was using Gooch Guard and quite happy with the product. Why would I ever change? Mainly...I just don't want to spend money. Looking for the best product for the best price is almost always a factor when looking for product.My local bike shop has ButtonHole in the single serving packet size and I would grab a few packets when heading out on long rides (in case I needed to reapply along the way. Sometimes those little packets come in handy!). I used the ButtonHole and the first thing I noticed was the "cooling" effect. I wasn't sure what to think of that at first but quickly got used to it. Secondly, the product does not smell bad.When it came time to replenish the Gooch product, I was just going to re-order but wanted to see what kind of deals were out there. Since I like the ButtonHole product, I spent a little more time reading through the reviews and then finally realized....hey! there is almost 2x the product as Gooch for about the same price. Hello ButtonHole! I put in the order and am happy.Each person will make their choice of product to use. I have used this in the past and like it enough that I will use it in the future. I think this is a great product for the price!
