How much DI water can CarShine produce
Each system can remove at least about 92 gram of magnesium or 144 gram of calcium. Each region has different types of dissolved minerals in the TDS reading. It is hard to know exactly how much DI water can be produced. Below is the minimum DI water capacity if there were only calcium or magnesium in the TDS reading. In reality, you should see capacity in between the numbers.

Calcium and magnesium ions in hard water crystallize into hard-to-remove calcite stains that become noticeable especially on shining surface like a new vehicle, which can't be removed with towel. In DI system, all ions (TDS) are exchanged, leaving the water with pure H2O. No more worry about stain. And better enough, you don't even need to towel dry your vehicle.

Inline TDS meter for real time monitoring
To know when to make deionization resin replacement to avoid scale stain on your vehicles, you can simply check the in-line TDS meter conveniently, which will display of TDS of the filtered water real time and any time. If it gets to 5 PPM, you can still wash and rinse your car with no stain, but it is time to order replacement bags of resin.
Properly regulated for your wash tool and resin life
The flow rate of the filter water is regulated at 2.4 GPM, a level purposefully chosen to maximize resin life and allow you to use pressure washer or nozzle sprayer of your choice, while maintaining zero PPM. It is an optimal balance that you would appreciate in avoiding some of the shortcomings of other systems. It is a design anchor point that we have always maintained in our CarShine systems.
Bypass valve for mixed water use as easy as 1-2-3
In bypass mode (bypass valve handle pointing to the bypass loop), wet, soap wash and clean vehicle with tap water. In filtered mode (bypass valve handle pointing away from the bypass loop), rinse vehicle with spot free DI filtered water as the final step. No need to towel dry.
Add an Envig chloramine garden filter to extend the life your DI resin (search ASIN B09DL7RRYY)
Chloramine and chlorine are chemicals for city water disinfection. They are known to shorten the life of DI resin (through oxidation). Chloramine is a hard-to-remove chemical. Regular activated carbon does little in its removal especially at water flow of a garden hose. Envig catalytic carbon has 10 times more chloramine removal capability and can reduce chloramine from your city tap water up to 80% (chlorine is much easier and can be easily removed by the filter). It has been used to extend the life of DI resin in the car wash unit and other products that use DI resin.

Bought this because I was getting tired of water spots, and having to hurry up and dry the motorhome. Now just wash with regular water, and turn the bypass valve to rinse, and no more water spots or trying to dry the coach before the sun dries it. It is actually a little smaller than I expected, but will work out great for storage purposes, as we are full time and storage is limited. Add this to the list of things that I should have bought a long time ago, add a nice small pressure washer and you're all set.

So far everything works as it should. I will say I was a bit confused at trying to get the top off, but I contacted Envig and it was explained the entire top (cap, handle, and meter) all twist off together. Once I had that information, I filled the tank with resin put it back together and was ready to clean my solar panels. Solid tank with good parts.
