I got a 12pk of these because my wife's craft room and my two sons bedrooms only have ceiling fan lights, and the the rooms were just not bright enough. Very easy install on these and they clipped into the ceiling nice and tight. I piggybacked off the ceiling fan light power circuit so we can use that switch to turn on the new lights and the ceiling fan light. Probably gonna put a dimmer on them, because now she says it's a bit to bright. I would recommend these lights, and if you are worried about one malfunctioning, get a few extra to keep on hand, they are reasonably priced.

My husband said they installed easily. Let's hope they last longer than the previous ones.

Durability / ReliabilityThe light fixture itself seems pretty solid and durable. The spring clips are more of a concern for me. Spring kind of easily falls off the retainer holding it to the light but once its in place is fine. Also the spring tension almost seems too strong because when I had to remove a fixture to reposition it the spring almost broke out the drywall.Functionality / VersatilityI've installed numerous ceiling lights through the years and by far these are the the easiest - Just 'plug n play'! No can needed, and easily strung together in series. As it turns out they are brighter than I expected for my kitchen so I've added a dimmer switch for versatility.SummaryWhere have these fixtures been all my life!? I've installed numerous ceiling lights through the years. I only planned to use these in the kitchen, but after seeing results I'm replacing utility room, closets, hallway, shop, etc... High quality, bright light, low energy consumption and cost efficient. I'll be purchasing more.

I recently installed drop ceiling tile covers in our basement to replace/hide those old chalky ones and also replaced old can ceiling lighting which used a big metal housing above the tile. These lights are lightweight, the wiring is easy to connect into the junction box provided and it's literally plug and play. When connecting the wires to the adapter inside the junction box, turning the adapter clockwise while pushing the wire inside makes it very easy. It's in the directions but I didn't read them so it ook me a few times to figure out why the connections weren't holding. To remove the wire, you can't just pull out. You turn counterclockwise while pulling the wire out. Quite simple actually. There is a circle template provide to make exact cuts in the ceiling for the light to fit securely. In my case, to cut holes in the drop ceiling tiles, I bought a Goldblatt G05141 drywall circle cutter and set it to match the dimensions of the circle template. Easy peezy. For every tile covered, I put the old chalky tile on top. For the ones with a light, the chalky board rests on top as well but I didn't attach the light fixture to the chalky board and instead attached to the tile cover itself. The cover is thin plastic so when attached to the old board, the light would press up causing an indention in the plastic tile. The fixtures are light enough to where I attached them to the plastic tile itself using a piece of regalar cardboard for the fixture springs and it doesn't droop. For the junction box, I just placed that on top of the old tile. Hope that made sense. Some reviewers said the lights didn't dim enough. I bought a Lutron DVCL-153P-GR LED+ dimmer switch with a Lutron Claro cover. I don't know if the switch is on the compatibility list or not but there is no buzzing etc. It works great. Inside the switch, there is a dimming adjust "knob". In some rooms, I moved it to the lowest setting and it's very dim with the slider moved to the bottom and bright enough with the slide moved all the way up. For example, when I start my day in the home office, I turn on the lights at very dim and then gradually slide up during the day. For other rooms, I start out at the brightest setting. It's a very nice feature on that switch. For color of light. I'm glad I chose at least 3 options (3/4/5K). I chose to use 4K which I think is a nuetral light. 5K was a bit too harsh and 3K a bit to yellow for my taste. I think if I purchased the fixture with more options, I'd have a hard time making a decision. Lol. The cool thing is that you can easily change the color temp at any time. Example: I'm not sold on the neutral light in a bathroom so I may move the switch to 3K.The lights are more than bright enough and cover a good amount of area. For Customer Service. I cannot say enough kind things about them. One of my lights was missing a spring. The lights come with 2 springs attached to the light. In most cases, especially mine, you need both springs to securely attach the lights to a ceiling. I emailed support, they responded very, very fast. I explained my situation and they sent me out a replacement fixtuee immediately. I don't often get fast responses or resolution from many companies unfortunately.I recently bought an additional 4 pack of these same lights to finish up another room. No issues, they work great just like all the others. It's amazing how much easier these are to install vs those big metal can light fixtures.Hope this review helps others.

We replaced 2 recessed pot lights with 6 of these and our chandelier in our dining room with another 6. When we turned the lights on for the first time, it was like having a brand new kitchen. They are very simple to install, I have no experience with electrical work, just watched a few videos on YouTube on how to properly install these. They look amazing, and it's nice being able to select the light setting you want, we went with 4500K.Definetly worth the money.

My old 55 vintage home was a bit dim on lighting and during a recent remodel effort I decided to give a pack of these a whirl in the living room (north facing with only one window so seldom bright enough and originally wired with the usual interrogation room ceiling fixture centered in the room. So I got after putting 11 of these up in there on a dimmer and so glad I did. Love it! I can make the brightness match the day outside, or dim it down in evenings to take the edge off. Crank it up for vacuuming and cleaning, and take it down for tv watching. The boxes are IC and damp rated out of the box (don't forget to pull the foam ring off the light to let it sit tighter to the ceiling (the foam ring is for the damp environment sealing).I like the 48-inch spacing I did on my 8-foot ceiling pretty well. Smooth lighting through the space. I did half that distance-ish off the walls for the first row (21") to keep from shadowing the corners of the room.Buy your 3/8 snap-in bushings ahead of time for the boxes as they don't come with any. You'll need a 4 1/8" (105mm) hole saw for cutting new holes. Remember to cut your hole in REVERSE rotation so it doesn't bite and grab.Recommend putting these up on 14/2 wire as the connectors seem to like that size a lot better than 12/2 throughout most of my house. Both will work but getting everything into that little box will be hard with 12/2. The boxes are nice - no cut fingers - but just barely big enough to run three 14/2 wires into it.Be sure to purchase a compatible dimmer - many models of which are rated by the manufacturer in the literature from poor to excellent. I bought an "excellent" rated Lutron dimmer that does, indeed, dim smooth as butter. And I popped the extra couple bucks for the variable color in case I couldn't decide or I wanted to better match other lights or parts of the house. Glad I did. Installed them at 4K but the next day popped each puck down and flipped it to 3K. This versatility is nice. Finally, something I didn't expect and love about these lights is in my situation they can replace an old builder's choice 60's-era ceiling fixture directly. I dropped the fixture, then dropped the 4" box from the blocking. These thin-profile boxes and lights then slipped right in above the ceiling where the old fixture used to be, and wired right in. Because the drywaller cut a nice proper hole I don't have any gaps showing around the puck. So this could be a viable option for converting anything on a 4" box to one of these. This was great because my hallway had one old ceiling fixture that I replaced with one of these and added four more so they all matched.Four stars on longevity because I don't know yet, but every light worked fine out of the box. Time will tell.
