I love English muffins, but hate opening them, and sometimes destroying them in the process. There's the "squeeze" trick which doesn't work that well. Then, there's cutting the thin, sometimes flattened, muffin with a knife. That's not easy and there's always the risk of cutting yourself.If you eat English muffins, don't hesitate. These look like they'll split an English muffin with ease. It seems silly using a fork to go slowly around a muffin in 2025. The future is here.

When I purchased this item, I admit I was skeptical of how well it would work. The first time I used it the muffin was perfectly split 1000% easier than splitting a muffin using a fork. My only piece of advice is to make sure the tongs are pushed all the way through the muffin.

We used the English muffin splitter this morning and it worked perfectly. We had no wasted crumbs and the two halves of the muffin had all their nooks and crannies intact! This is an excellent product!

This is a nice concept and should have worked well but it’s a big disappointment. The tines are wonky and misaligned when it's closed so they don't slide into the muffin easily. When you put a little pressure on it to push it through the muffin there’s a lot of resistance and they bend even more and tear up the muffin more than necessary. When you try to open the plastic frame to separate the muffin there's a lot of resistance and the prongs bend and give before the muffin does. Like I said, it’s a nice concept but it’s poorly made of weak materials and the asking price is way out of line for the poor quality materials used to make it.

This might work on ordinary English muffins, but it did not work at all with my gluten free muffin (they were not frozen or thawing, but just in the fridge for over a week), because my muffins are hard, not soft, due to being Gluten Free. It was very difficult to get the prongs into the muffin, took a Lot of strength, and the prongs would not go straight in, they are too thin/weak, so the prongs do not stay in the middle. It is not possible to guide the prongs to remain straight. When I pulled the 2 halves apart (also not easy), the muffin broke about 80% of the way down, so there were not 2 halves, but one half plus a big lump, and another piece that was 3/4 of the half. I didn't try it on a softer regular muffin, but it did not come close to working on my harder GF muffin.
