For a low-cost product, this is exactly what I needed! I had to hone a small engine cylinder to remove a ring ridge and the dead exactly what I needed. Competitors tend to fall apart all the time, and this one held up.

I purchased this to hone a cylinder on a new cast iron, old-fashioned hand water pump. About 3" bore, very much like a car. The hone works for the purpose and nothing broke. At the price, I didn't expect a lot.So what's bad about it? Two things. First- the stones are soft. Unbelievably soft. After about 3 minutes of use at a moderate speed, the stones had worn to a triangular shape and the metal brackets that hold them would soon be scraping the cylinder walls. I'd never seen that happen before and over the years I've used such devices many times. The fact that the wear produced a triangular profile says the stone trays were able to tilt rather than staying flat against the cylinder wall. That's excessively loose tolerance in the parts.However, this hone included an extra set of stones, so I started to change them out to finish the job.This is when I discovered that the stones were not attached to the arms with bolt and nut as pictured in the listing- but with rivet pins, where the ends were expanded. You have to drill that off to remove the worn stone, then come up with some bolts and nuts to replace them.Overall, this is not a tool worth investing in, even for a one-time use as I intended here.

These are extremely cheap junk! They literally just fall apart in every way! Tiny rivets broke immediately on large one, then switched to mid size to try to finish cylinder,and flex head twisted off!
