The Enerpac LX-101 hydraulic oil comes in a one-gallon package and is suitable for use with Enerpac hydraulic hand pumps (sold separately). It is not suitable for use in power pumps.

Hydraulic pumps lift, bolt, or apply pressure to objects by pressurizing and moving hydraulic fluid. A hydraulic pump consists of a base, a reservoir that holds hydraulic fluid, and an operating mechanism, such as a handle or foot pedal, an electric motor, compressed air, or a gasoline engine. When the operating mechanism is activated, pressurized hydraulic fluid from the reservoir is delivered through an attached hose to a hydraulic cylinder. The pressurized hydraulic fluid in the cylinder lifts the cylinder’s piston, which in turn lifts the load. Hydraulic hand pumps are usually made of steel, or aluminum and nylon, and can be single-speed or two-speed. They are used in a wide range of applications, such as construction, manufacturing, and maintenance and repair applications in both industrial and home settings.

Enerpac manufactures industrial hydraulic equipment for lifting, workholding, and other applications, and provides integrated lifting solutions for bridge construction, mining, shipbuilding, and other industries. The company, founded in 1959, is headquartered in Menominee Falls, WI.

Expensive for a gallon of hydraulic fluid but it goes in to expensive porta power equipment, so wanted to use the OEM fluid. Barring any kind of major failure, a gallon should last for a very long time.

A friend made a tool using a 10-ton Enerpac hydraulic unit and so we ran this hydraulic oil in it to make sure everything played nicely since Enerpac units are so expensive. This fluid is pretty thin as far as hydraulic fluid goes, but it's relatively standard in smell and feel. Works well. Pours like water. No complaints. The only thing I wish is that it wasn't so expensive! I took a star off because a 1 GAL container cost me $50 or so. I am sure generic hydraulic fluid would work but since this tool is on loan I would not want to risk filling it with the wrong fluid.
