Bought this for my husband for his birthday. He loves tools and gadgets and seemingly has everything in that regard. We tested it looking under the couch and I was surprised at the quality. I could see the dog hairs under the couch lol the camera is not made for far distance viewing. While you can see things far away, the quality at a distance is poor. But again if your using this gadget your fishing that wire through something and the camera will be up close to whatever you are fishing through anyway. I can’t speak for the $200 one’s but I know this one is fine for us and anything we would use it for. I would recommend this for the price, cable length, how easy it is to use, and it works well. Important to note, all you have to do is open the box and plug in your device to charge it then turn it on. There is literally nothing required and I love that it’s rechargeable and not battery powered.

It’s got good picture and great lighting but it’s a little difficult to navigate unless it’s a straight shot to what your aiming at, it worked okay for a bathroom drain, and finding a rats nest in a wall, would have given it a 5 star rating but haven’t owned or used another one to compare it to. For the price I would purchase another one if I needed to.

Need to see what behind a wall or around a corner eyes just can't reach? An endoscope kept coming up as something I wish I had for certain projects but kept making do with out. This time I needed to route some Ethernet cabling through some old ducting and had no idea which bends and turns it took behind the wall and kept getting stuck on something with the cable snake. I was able to sort of tape the end of the endoscope to the snake and get a better picture of the ledge I was getting stuck onKeep in mind there's no way to control which way the endoscope points beyond positioning it the direction you want before inserting into the hole and kind of rotating the entire line (think of a stiffish wire like a cloth hanger) but you're probably gonna get some bobbing action as the camera rebounds up and down. Though the additional length is helpful if your trying to go an extended run with minimal to no turns. Looking behind a fridge or under a car maybe. There is a small mirror attachment that's supposed to allow you to see around 90* bends but it didn't work well in my circumstance, it seemed to require more light than was provided by the illuminated tip and the image appeared blurry/warped. (Did confirm it sort of works in a well lit room but still suffered from the image not being clear even after making sure the mirror was clean. The screen has the option to flip the image, show gray scale, and zoom the image up to 2.0x. I have doubts that it's 1080 resolution as the listing says, though it's a nice tool to have in a pinch and seems to have decent battery life (I kept it running for hours on accident) and charges quickly with the usb-C connection. In the future I'll probably invest in one of the endoscopes that allow you to move the head to better navigate tight spots but for the price it's a nice tool to have in your tool belt. I'm now trying to talk myself out of putting it down the random holes in my yard to try to find out what critters reside there.

Cons, and there aren't many- No way to record. I wish there was an SD slot for recording- No carrying case. Small nitpick, but worth a mention.- Not 1080 like advertised. Still a good definition, plenty good enough for almost anything I can think the typical person would use this for. If I had to guess it's maybe 780??Pros- The price. I caught a sale so this was 29.95. For that price I wasn't expecting a lot. I was pleasantly surprised. I would have still felt it was a good deal at 50 bucks.- Great field of view. At a few feet of distance I can see the whole 18 foot wall of my room and at about 2 inches I can clearly read small print. It looses focus at about 1 inch or so.- Lots of options. Flipping the screen upside-down will come in handy, switching to black and white, contrast, brightness and zoom functions and a control for LED brightness.- Long camera cable. Some might find it annoyingly long. I'd rather have it and not need it.Other thingsIt comes with a few attachments, like a hook and a magnet so you can retrieve that pair of tweezers you dropped in the toilet. The attachments are cheap and feel like they would break easily. But at this price point, I can buy a better magnet. All in all, great buy. I'll be using this to peek behind walls to help find leaks without having to make a big hole to stick my fat head into. My last one, that died, cost 5 times this and didn't have half of the options this has.
