I've been using these/reusing them in lifting/moving boulders up to 1.5 and 2 tons screwed onto expansion bolts drilled into granite boulders (although I don't suspend them over people or valuable assets; don't trust the expanders that much). No sign of deforming at all. The expansion bolts (half inch) are inexpensive compared to the lifting eye so it's nice the eye is so durable/reusable and able to handle so much stress.
