I’m a big fan of French Onion Soup and decided to up my game a splurge on these bowls. They hold around 16 ounces, they retain heat well and they look beautiful. Worth every penny!

Perfect size, shape, and color! So functional for autumn and winter soups and stews. I am very grateful that Amazon still sells items that are made in Europe and the USA from time to time! Highly recommend anything Emile Henry!

Quality appears to be declining since the 50’s and 60’s based on EH I’ve inherited. These are $30 bowls (each) which is astronomical for their category and for what you get.1. There were many spots where the colour was missing2. There were many spots where the colour shouldn’t be (the bottom should never look like this on a quality dish/bowl. Every single one looked this way. It should be devoid of colour)3. There are many spots where the glaze was missing and its raw clay4. The colour pictured and received were significantly different. They show a blue, this is strait green.5. As everyone else stated, the logo is basically invisible. They should rub the colour off it a bit before that firing.I genuinely don’t understand what they are doing. It’s as if they got lazy and stopped caring or taking pride in their work. I returned these. I was thinking for white since they can’t mess that up. I would value these at about $10-12 per bowl.

Size of these bowls is perfect for chicken pot pies. I topped the filling with puff pastry overhanging the bowls then pressed the dough around the edges and brushed with a little egg wash. Perfect size for my creation. Baked to perfection at 375 degrees and served right from the bowls placed on larger dishes. They are beautiful and a wonderful addition to my growing EH collection!

These bowls are a nice bright red color, are sturdy, and seem to be high quality. They have handles that are convenient for carrying, and are pretty thick which means they are able to keep soup warm quite a while. Best of all, they are made in France, so I feel I can trust the claims that they are safely made with non-toxic materials. I only wish they had the same type of bowl available in a larger size (these are ~ cereal bowl size).
