Was great for almost 2 years, then I had a power outage and it messed up the time/day and I can’t get it to reset. So I’m going to have to buy a new one.

Propaganda Enganosa!!!!!!!!

It would have been the perfect dressing room clock, but I was asking too much of it. Yes, it was supposed to provide an attractive but minimalist digital display, which it did, but I went overboard expecting it to automatically keep the time and the correct day of the week accurately, especially since this was an advertised selling feature. I purchased this clock about a year ago; presently it’s saying that it’s 8:24 AM SUN. Who would ever guess that per every other clock, news station, and calendar in the house, it was actually around 9:24 AM on a TUES. And yes, because the clock is supposed to set itself, I tried unplugging several times to reset it; didn’t work. The day of the week has never been accurate since I purchased it, and I’ve never been able to figure out how to manually change that feature, so I just decided to live with it. But after waking today and finding that the time feature is corrupted as well…..that’s enough for me. This product is a complete failure. It is aesthetically pleasing, but can you count on it to work properly? I’m very disappointed. I didn’t expect a brand like Emerson, who’s been around for years, to produce such mechanical junk.

I've had an Emerson Smart-set clock-radio-CD player for many years but recently it developed functional issues making it intermittently undependable so I decided to look for a newer model. I chose this one because of it's clean lines combined with the easy to read, brightness adjustable blue digital display. While I no longer have any need for a CD player, or an O.T.A. radio, I want the radio's functionality in the event I need it at some point so this clock-radio hits the spot for me. The only issue I've had with this device was when I set it up for the first time. It didn't initially detect my time-zone or set itself to the correct time, not even after inserting a backup battery (not included) so I had to set those up manually. While this was not an issue for me, it is contrary to the advertised behavior so I must describe the device as not being in compliance with what's advertised. Based on that, buyer beware, but if the initial set-up functionality is not an issue for you and you want a great looking clock, you should consider this one.Ernie

Likes: dual alarms, good dimmer with several levels, love the wake to music as it starts very low and builds sound without jarring you awake, has a nice night light if preferred.Dislikes - only one really. First plugin, setup, it went right to correct time zone, time, and year and the 1st several power outages, Since then if I get a power outage, it stays on 2019 and 2 hours off on my time zone (eastern which is default) Unplug, let it set awhile, plug back in no dice, stays several years off and 2 hours off time. This is a function that was supposed to be automatic, it was on the 1st Smartset I bought, and is in this description of this one. I had to set everything myself, year, time etc radio station. I noticed that my first Smartset after so long started losing time or adding time. nothing huge..5 to 7 minutes here and there and had to be adjusted from time to time, but Ive had it years and I expect cheap electronics to fail sooner or later. 20 to 30 bucks every 5 years or so is not bad IMO. Manual setup takes a minute or 10.**Edit - found out that after the last power outage DLST does not function even though it is on. Everything keeps pointing back to the clock being in "standby" mode to change on or off. No mention of how to put the device in 'standby" mode in the manual. Just that it has to be in that mode to turn on DLST. Maybe I got a bad one - it happens. Only had it 3 months.

This is my first time owning alarm clock and putting one in my bedroom to help me wake up. My mom has a alarm clock. So does my brother. I first took it out of the box it was easy to place back in. I saved the original box it came in. Soon as I plugged it in the AC outlet to see it turn on, it was exciting. The technology they used to make that time automatically transfer to the correct time was amazing. The technology they are inventing now can do anything to make electronics become innovative. The year, month, day, and time was set correctly. I live in Georgia and that is Eastern time on the time zone. I was able to program my radio so that it gets all my favorites Atlanta radio stations. The antenna is designed and built in the cord. I had to unbend and move the cord around so that the signal for the radio could help me hear the radio better. I was able to program five stations out of twenty. I am happy I was able to set my alarm clock up, that was a little confusing. That is the one thing I dislike. I was able to turn the LED light on and off. There are some other features I have not gotten around to checking, but, so far so good. I have this alarm clock a grade 90%. I love that it is made of glass.

Doesn’t deserve even one star . Sent a clock meant for USA with 2 flat pin plug and 110 v. Date in USA format ie 4th sept is 9/4/21 instead of Uk 4/9/21. Conversion would be £40/£70 and still left with USA date format .Refunded!!
