These safety whistles might work if you are trying to call a dog to your aid. However, they make no sound approaching that of a whistle to the human ear. Not good for making an alert to any type of mishap. It's just the sound of air being blown through a general tube. Highly disappointed.

My grandchildren come to stay with me for a month every summer... My grandson is too old to go into the women's restroom with me when we are out and about, but not old enough that I feel comfortable sending him into a men's restroom alone, i've worked in law enforcement and know first hand what kind of things can happen... seldom , but they do... so this whistle is in case something happens and he needs help... trust me, Grandma will come running.... they wear them if we are going to be in a crowded place or anywhere that we might not always be right together.

The whistle barely works and it's on a clip, it the clip breaks...your whistle is gone.
