Gave us a piece of mind knowing that this is upstairs incase of a fire so we can safely leave through the windows!

Pleased with this purchase. The hook and loop are substantial. The rope is a fat .75 inch diameter. The rungs are stiff and ridged for good grip. Can’t make out what the rungs are made of, but they are strong, thick and not brittle. The coffee cup and dining chair in images are for scale. I slid it under my bed ready to deploy on second floor balcony railing outside my bedroom, in case of fire blocking the stairwell.

Bought this for my daughter’s rv. So she could get out of her rv in case of fire blocking her only door.

I have needed one of these for years, since I have a high deck outside my bedroom with no way down besides jumping. I have owned three previous escape ladders, all derivative of my time living in apartments in the City. One was rope with wooden rungs, two were all metal and weighed so much they were clumsy to use. All three had two steel S-hooks as the means of attachment. This ladder has two loops heavily sewn in at the top end, and includes two heavy duty carabiner clips to attach to them, displayed here by my quality control technician Queen Rutabaga. Those clips would work great if I had a steel railing on the deck instead of a crude wooden one. If I use this ladder, I'll need to double it over the top of the railing and clip the loops to the support ropes. I do recommend one practices how to secure it in case of fire or other emergency, so that one won't have to curse and fumble with flames licking at one's backside. The ropes and plastic rungs seem plenty strong; the ropes through the rungs are integrated into the support ropes (photo). I am a bit mystified by the raw ends of the rope at the bottom, wrapped in clear packing tape; the presentation seems a trifle tatterdemalion for that one reason, but after all, the bottom ends are the least vital part of the whole shebang, they offer several different lengths of ladder, and sixteen-plus feet is way more than enough to get me to Terra firma. Still, I think a couple of rope ends of crimped brass or nylon would be a nice touch, and would appeal to the customer more than the raw rope ends. The loops at the other end are, by contrast, elaborately sewn. As far as being effective for the purpose, I can't complain. I'll practice getting the twelve or so feet down from the deck once or twice, after the current rains are finished.

I got this rope ladder for my 2nd story house. I was immediately impressed on how heavy duty this rope ladder is. The rope itself is very thick and strong. I like that this ladder comes with everything needed to get it setup. The ladder steps are very thick and non bendable. I am very impressed by the strength of this ladder. I also really like that this ladder comes with connections hooks to help with the installation of this ladder.

This fire escape ladder is a must for high living. It is heavy duty with a strong mesh. It is rated to hold 2,000 lbs! You hope you never need it, but if you do, it's literally a lifesaver! This model does not have the standard 'S' hooks that many come with. Instead it has reinforced loops with heavy duty carabiners to attach to a railing or loop around and hook on itself. A nice feature that adds security. Depending on your size, or the size of your biggest family member, I might replace the carabiners with locking carabiners, rated for climbing. It is heavy duty, but still light enough to carry. The rungs are made of plastic, so it should not be left out in the sun or you will compromise the strength of the ladder. For your peace of mind, a definite worthy purchase.

I decided to get this ladder because I live in a three-story townhome with a deck on the top. Definitely a good idea to have this in case of any emergencies so I can hop down from the deck if need be. I love that the latter is rope and flexible, for an easy storage, I can tuck it away on my deck without it being out in plain sight all the time. For an easy storage, I can tuck it away on my deck without it being out in plain sight all the time. I love that this comes in many different sizes as well. Came rolled up and packaged neatly. This latter is on the narrow side, so would definitely be for one person at a time And for one person to move down carefully. Either way this latter gives me peace of mind. Overall, I would recommend this product.
