Disc one failed to load the first quiz after I did all the lessons. Disc two failed to load paged 13/16 in first lesson. I am so upset. I wish I could return it but I waited to long to try the software and now I'm stuck with it.

So I bought this to brush up on my theory and test my knowledge. Working through the early chapters so nothing much is new yet. On thing I didn't anticipate was the need for a microphone. I have one I will eventually hook up and try, but have no vocal talent so I will likely fail the tests even though I understand the theory.Another issue I have is that I am a guitar player and keeping time by pressing keys is not very useful in that regard. Now if you are a piano player, it's probably great, but I'm off a lot from my tapping. It also doesn't help that I have a bluetooth keyboard that sometimes lags. I've had a 0% quiz just because taps didn't register at all. You can redo the quiz, but I'm more after knowledge, not out to improve my finger taps.I see a few other things I perceive as flaws in the way it is set up.....first too much is placed on my tapping/vocal ability, neither of which I'm looking to improve. I want the knowledge of theory. Second, it doesn't always give you the ability to skip it. I just left chapter one open when I tried to force me into vocal and found a way to skip to the next level. Third, not enough time is present between showing the melody and tapping it for the quiz, It gives you one listen to memorize (I don't have that attention span or memory), then displays it and starts a 4 beat metronome lead in. I'd like to be able to look at it before starting the 4 beat lead in. Too much to focus on in so little time. For now I'm going to give it a 4 because I think the knowledge I'm looking for probably is in here, but I'm not enjoying the process. For my purposes it's probably three star. But if you are looking to also improve vocal or piano timing I think 4 or maybe 4.5 stars is more appropriate. Is there a way to hook my guitar up to this?

Even though I pointed out to Amazon customer service that this software is being sold for 79.95 at Musiciansfriend, Guitarcenter, and about a half dozen other sites, I was blown off IMMEDIATELY by the Amazon "pricing team". They never validated the claim or evenlooked at the sites I referenced, They immediately posted a form letter "sorry, but the price is the price" response and sent me on my way.I tried to give you my money, Amazon. I really did.The software itself is fantastic, so I won't punish the publisher with a bad rating. I'm on the go often and have a long commute without an internet connection. This is exactly the sort of music theory training I was looking for and I'm loving it so far. Since I just started using it, I will update in a few months with my progress and further thoughts.

I just got around to loading this software after having purchased the product in January 2017. Too late to return for a refund ...my fault. But now I find out in order to load the product I have to make an additional purchase of a microphone. Why was this not mentioned in the product description. From other reviews, it sounds like the product is great. The one star review is for the lousy point of sale description...I can't rate the software until I spend the additional dollars to purchase a microphone. What a disappointment.5/14/2017 Since posting the above review, I was contacted by a representative from the company, offering to help me solve my problem. Her name is Alla. Over the course of about a week we exchanged several emails until the problem was completely solved. What she provided was good old fashioned excellent customer service. I cannot speak highly enough about the help that she provided, and just as I suspected...once I was able to use the software, it is everything that I hoped it would be. Thanks again Alla!

Nothing in the system requirements about requiring a microphone. That's right, if you don't have a microphone, the software does not even run at all after install. All you get is an error message. Complete waste. There is no reason to require a microphone to listen to and learn music theory.
