These 8 x 10 shadow boxes are perfect for my projects. I have a picture of multiple birds on a tree branch. The birds are made out of different colors of sea glass. I didn’t care for the frame that the picture came with, so this shadow box will be perfect. The other shadow box will be in honor of my mom. It will contain an old handwritten recipe or two she was well known for in the family, some vintage measuring spoons and some other kitchen items that belonged to her. The shadow box that I received has the option of being displayed on a horizontal surface or hung on a wall. Both options allow for landscape and portrait positions. It has the standard amount of tabs on the backside of the frame, two on the long sides and one on the short sides, for a total of six tabs. The vendor advertises an acid free matte. I don’t need it for either of my projects, but I will indicate that it’s acid free and set it aside for future use. I appreciate that the shadow box has glass rather than plastic. The thick wooden frame is constructed well and there are no issues with the paint. It’s a very attractive shadow box and has some substantial weight to it. At the time of my review, this set of two 8” x 10” shadow boxes is being offered at $21.99. Not a bad price at all.Please note:I am a member of the Amazon Vine Program. I was pleasantly surprised with these-actual glass rather than acrylic, and a mat frame within. I love using shadowboxes in general and have made quite a few, but I got these specifically for my son, who went to a couple major shows this past summer and ended up with a whole lot of awesome stuff from them; signed set lists, picks, a bracelet from one of his favorite singers and even a drum stick, handed to him from the drummer of a band that sings about mastering puppets or something ;) Anyway I offered up the idea of making shadowboxes to display his treasures while keeping them safe and he loved it. And since there's two of them, he can separate the two big festivals-giving his prizes the proper space and respect they deserve :) These frames seem like really great quality and the only thing I noticed is that the tabs in back look a little small, but there are literally 14 of them, so they should hold just fine.

The shadow boxes are of good quality with nice black finish and engineered wood frames - not cheap plastic. I liked the fact that the glass was actually glass and not acrylic. That makes it a little more scratch resistant. The mat for the frames was a little cheap but I did not use it anyway. The mfr could easy spring for a real mat and this package would be unbeatable in black. I am happy with the value and delivery time. Thx. Allen

This set of shadow boxes is really nice and deep to allow for displaying all sorts of items, which I really like. The front glass is sturdy and held nicely in place between the front of the frame and the thin spacer trim that lines the entire inside edge of the frame.These frames have a thick back board that is held in by tiny folding metal tabs. Somewhat of an annoyance, as there are 14 of them, but there are little guitar-pick pieces included with the hanging hardware that I assume are meant for lifting these tabs so you don't have to peel your nails off trying to lift them so that's handy. The hanging tabs are metal and have hinges so they aren't the flimsy kind that wear out and snap off after being adjusted more than once. There are 2 hanging tabs each for either a horizontal or vertical display, to ensure a level installation.The included matte is a bit thin but looks nice in the frame. It does have a slight gap along the short sides but that's only visible if you look at a specific angle and pretty close-up. The corners of the frames line up nicely and are sturdy but I did notice some slight imperfections (shown in my included photos). Again, really only going to notice those if someone is very specifically looking for them.Overall, these frames feel sturdy and well made. They look nice and are a great depth and size for displaying any number of items in shadow boxes.

I was so excited when I opened these. I used them to make collages of an event that I went to. They're gorgeous, simple frames, with a lot of depth. There's not really much to say about them - they're very solid shadow boxes, and I would absolutely purchase these again. They're quality and look great. I love that the glass is glass and not plexiglass.
