I use mushroom powder in my coffee and that will settle to the bottom of the cup. Sometimes I forget to swirl the coffee as I drink and end up with dregs of mushroom powder, not tasty. But, if I use this cup, I can occasionally push the button and keep the mushroom powder suspended in the coffee. The cup is just the right size for my morning coffee and the double wall holds the temperature at my preferred warmth for drinking. It's easy to use. Press the button, after charging, and your coffee gets stirred for you. It's fun and worth getting one just for the novelty.

I have several similar products. I love them, but they require hand washing only. These are superior in as the electronic base disconnects, allowing fir quick and easy dishwasher cleaning of the mug.

After hours of charging the stir function doesn't work. but I like the cup without it working. I may just try and get a replacement.

I thought this was an interesting novel idea and I needed to get it. As you can sees in the description it spins using a tiny magnet that is the shape and size of a pill. This magnet sits at the bottom of your cup. You attach the cup to the base. Place the pill in the bottom and click the button. This causes the pill to spin and makes a strong vortex effect in your cup. Lid necessary as the liquid is displaced quite a bit. I worry about the pill coming loose and being swallowed. Why? I do love the color and the cup is useful on it's own. It's a fun gimic but I am honestly scared to use it. I am a tea drinker so I usually have a tea bag in my cup and I know that will interfere. It has a nice locking lid and it made of good quality steel.

If you've ever worked in a chemistry lab, you're very familiar with pill stirrers. The chem lab ones are generally quite a bit more powerful than this one, but they have the same basic function, and the same basic drawbacks. Because the pill is small and rounded, it doesn't produce a great deal of shear force, so it's not really good at mixing things that don't dissolve or disperse easily. Cocoa, instant coffee, Crystal Light, etc. are all things that mix easily, so this will do fine for those, although some brands of cocoa do tend to clump more than others, so you might have to spin it a couple times. But for things like protein powder and most pre-workout drink mixes, you'll need a blender or something else that produces much higher shear force. A pill stirrer won't cut it. That doesn't mean it's bad. It's just not designed for those things. One good thing about pill stirrers is that the vortex they produce is very flat, so it doesn't push the liquid up the side of the container the way a blender does. That means you can spin this mug at close to capacity without worrying about spills. This particular mug can be within about a half inch of the top and still not spill, so that's really great. It's also much quieter than a blender, by far, so that's another bonus.Overall, I'm happy to see these little pill stirrers like I used back in college finally making their way into the consumer market as drink mugs. It's a bit of a blast from the past for me, as well as being a very functional and well-tested technology, as long as you use it for what it's good at. Cocoa, coffee, Crystal Light = good, protein powder and pre-workout = bad. Just keep that in mind and you've got a great little mug here.
