I purchased this sander 5 months ago, but have only recently needed to use it. It worked great for a couple of hours, but then quit completely (will not turn on at all, despite trying multiple trouble free outlets on different circuits). It is/was connected to an effective dust control system. Nonetheless Amazon's website shows this sander as having a 1 year warranty, but provides no contact information for Phendo, the manufacturer. Because there is no reasonable way to obtain support or contact information for Phendo, I WOULD NOT purchase this product.

Yup, this thing is fantastic. Finishing projects faster than ever, better quality, eats material fast with heavy grits, polishes nicely with finer grits.6" pads, nets, and disc's all fit great so far. Easily stays level to keep workpieces flat and perfect.Cons (not really): 6" is too big to do detail sanding, so now I need to buy a high quality 3" sander that I like as much as this. The "permanent" dust hose feels cheap, but it does spin and rotate well, so no matter what kind of vac system you have, you'll always have that freedom.Yes, this is essentially a knockoff mirka. I have demon mirka/festool products at my local hardwood supplier, and this is comparable quality.

This sander produces an exceptionally smooth finish with no swirl marks. It is comfortable to hold and use and has very little vibration. I set it up with an automatic switch so my vacuum is turned on whenever I start the sander. The dust extraction is very efficient and captures almost all of the dust making the use of a dust mask unnecessary. The unit seems well-built. Since it was just received I cannot review how long it will last, but the motor does not show signs of overheating. A definite recommendation.***Update 1/8/2024 -It's now been a few months shy of a year since I purchased this sander, which has been used almost daily to do medium and finish sanding on sign blanks prior to staining or painting. The machine has held up well and replaced a Dewalt 5 inch sander. The 6 inch diameter abrasive covers more area and produces a good finish when combined with premium abrasive. When combined with dust extraction it eliminates the need to wear masks. It's very low vibration makes even long duration jobs more enjoyable.Highly recommend.

I've logged about 15 hours sanding with this sander so far. 6" is a huge difference from the 5" palm sanders I've been using. Love the form factor , it's much easier to hold and control and much quieter with way less vibration. The dust collection is great with shop vac and central vac system in the shop. I'm about to start sanding a 42' trawler hull which will really put this to the test but already anticipate a much better experience compared to the palm sanders I've used in the past.

I have about 6 hours on this sander it is going very well so far. I have used it to sand the sides of a large boat with 80 grit mesh and then go over that with Scotch Brite using this sander. I was using an extra velcro pad. I did the same earlier with the Mirka and so very comparable workload. All work was done on a ladder and with a vacuum attached so ease of turning on/off, moving the ladder, and dealing with the vacuum are part of my experience with this sander. This sander is slightly larger than the Mirka. The controls are the same (on/off switch, LEDs for speed, variable push paddle). The pad is the same. The cord is super long, thank you. The cord does not detach and so I suppose that is a negative. The feel is not as perfect in the hand as the Mirka but for 1/3 the price it is close enough for me. The vibration is the same and I did not feel nerve fatigue with either sander after many hours of sanding. The dust collection hose is attached pretty permanently to the sander, I like this better than the Mirka since it doesn't come loose. I duct taped the far end of the hose to my vacuum and that was a solid connection which even allowed me to hang the sander off a rung of a ladder while I moved the ladder. I would say I like the vacuum arrangement on this sander better, it is more solid. The O.D. of the hose connector is 1.5".I do two kinds of sanding: flattening and edge grinding. For flattening it is as expected and with the mesh sandpaper does a great job with no dust. When I push the edge into the material it behaves very similar to the Mirka, it slows down rotation or stops and just vibrates. I would rather it keep turning but the Mirka does this same thing and so it is hard to criticize.I will update this review once I have more hours on the sander. So far I am very happy and would buy it again. I work in a boat shop and Mirkas fail sometimes here, it will be interesting to see how long this sander lasts.Update (2023-08-14) after 6 months of use:I love this sander. It is now my go-to sander. I don't know how many hours I have on it but I am on my third velcro pad and a couple hundred sanding disks. The dust collection is very good and easy to connect/disconnect from various vacuums. I like the feel in my hand and I do not get fatigued or nerve damage from it. I have also been using it with Scotch Brite pads and that works well too; the sander has enough power to scuff metal and keep going with quite a bit of pressure. I would definitely buy this sander again and am glad I took the risk.Update 2024-01-25: Still in love with this sander. It is my goto tool. Recently I put 40 grit on it and smoothed structural foam. The dust collection kept the mesh clear and I was able to cut/shape for well over an hour no problem. I also used 320 grit holding it very steady to rough up varnish. I really like this sander, it feels good in the hand, does not cause fatigue, and it is easy to switch meshes (turn it off, flip it upside down, back on again). If this sander ever fails I would buy another in a minute. I have been using Mirka 6" hook and loop pads on it, I have not found a cheaper source.
