HOW TO REPLACE THE BULBS
- Switch off the power, unplug the bug zapper and wait 5 minutes.
- Touch the grid with a metal object with an insulated grip (e.g. screwdriver). Make sure that the grid is no longer electrically charged.
- Gently remove the outer grille covering the rear side where the bulb is located outwards.
- Gently turn the bulb until it meets the slot in the bulb holder and slowly take the bulb out. Then replace the bulb with a new one, turning the new bulb a few turns to ensure that the new bulb snaps tightly into the bulb holder.

I bought this on 20 Nov 2023 and I'm writing this review on 02 Sep 2024. Since being delivered, this zapper has been running continuously, 24hrs a day, every day. The only times it has been turned off are the handful of times I moved it or dumped off the dead bugs. I changed the bulbs somewhere around 5 months mark, swapping them to the set of extras that came with the product. I'm now approaching 5 months with these bulbs and only one is glowing, so I suspect the second will burn out soon. To me, for the nonstop use, not having to buy new bulbs until 10 months later is fine. This thing has killed a phenomenal amount of bugs, everything from fruit flies to moths to giant female mosquitoes. I keep it on top of my fridge which is right next to my sliding balcony door. I have two cats that enjoy the balcony, so I often leave the door open ~6 inches for them to use freely, which means it's very easy for bugs to get in. Rarely do any bugs make it past this when they enter, but if they do, no worries, because as soon as night hits and I turn off all other lights, with this being the only glow in the apartment, any bug that remained past dark gets zapped over night. I have loads of potted plants, and aquatic plants in large open tanks of water, so the last thing I ever want is an infestation of anything that could fly in and nest in my plants. Luckily, it's been a non-issue with this zapper.

It pisses me off when I see that a fly made it into my bedroom. It's worse when I hear a mosquito buzzing in my ear waiting for me to fall asleep. So I ended up buying this thing. I was ready for it to be more Chinese-made garbage, but it actually works really well.I set it up in my bedroom, turned off the light and plugged it in. As I was watching TV, I heard a loud crack come from it. I thought the zapper was arcing randomly because it was so cheap. No. It blasted a full-sized mosquito. Good. I went to bed again and *crack*. It nailed the tiniest mosquito I've ever seen. Impressive. I got up two more times that first night. I ended up turning it off because the light was too bright to sleep with on.The next morning I turned it on and kept my bedroom door closed. It killed one more tiny bug. This worked far better than I could have hoped for.Pros: It works and it comes with extra bulbs.Cons: None. Except for that one time a fly got stuck and it started on fire. Had to tap it loose. Smelled like burning hair.Recommended. Keep your bedroom door closed and screened window open.

Flies have been awful for the last couple of years and I hate them! I bought the first one of these a year ago and left it on 24/7 for months, 6-8. During that time I replaced one of the two bulbs with one of the two extra bulbs that came with it. It was very effective but it stopped working a few days after I turned it on this spring. That was frustrating so I bought a different one on Amazon that advertised a life of up to ten years. However the lights were like LED and it didn’t work nearly as well for attracting and killing flies so I bought my second one of these and it’s working fine. Obviously I don’t know if the first one died prematurely but it worth it to me to buy something that works.

It works. The sound of zapping a mosquito wasn't loud, it was a zizzle, which was nice, because the other zapper I had sounded like gunshots. I have it in the living room and the only thing that bothers me is that the lights are very bright at night. Very nice for the price which included two replacement bulbs. I keep it on 24/7. I'll come back for an update when the bulbs have to be replaced.
