This is my first lab stand so I'm not sure what others are looking for. My experience is that it has been stable, my clamps have held well on it, and it has supported the moderate weight I've put on it so far.

Truly impressed by the quality - I've seen much worse in actual laboratories. This stand has some real weight to it - enough to inspire confidence that I won't be accidentally knocking this over or even off balance. It collapses down into 3 parts, which makes it very neat to stow away on a shelf, but that doesn't mean theres any compromise being made with sturdiness compared to a 1 piece pole. The threading on the base and both halves of the pole are high quality machining and mate together with a very smooth and tight join.Especially at

I don't use these often because the hotplate/stirrer is usually enough to set up some apparatus with the equipment I need. However, having a second stand like this for something like a separatory funnel is a very convenient thing indeed.The stand has a nice, heavy base and feels quite solid. Very good product.

I've recently gotten into chemistry and started grabbing components for the setups I need. Originally, I bought a bunch of the cheap stands, which are fine and come with a bunch of different components, but I don't trust them at all for the sensitive areas of my setups, and since chemistry can be no joke, those cheap stands won't cut it.This may be a few dollars more than the cheap stands you can find but is genuinely worth every extra penny. These are high quality stands with extra weight and a reliable screw post. This way you don't have random bar or component spinning for your sensitive areas. I highly recommend this stand. The bar is a standard thickness, so all standard connection points are completely compatible with this stand.I personally highly recommend this as a rock solid stand for your sensitive setup areas.

This is a nice lab stand with good heft. The rod it comes with is nice and thick, thicker than the one my Corning hot plate comes with. The rod threads onto the plate directly. The threads ship with a rubber cap covering them to ensure they are undamaged. The paint job on the plate has no flaws. I've wanted one of these for a while -- just need to get a good clamp now. EISCO makes decent quality labware. I have some of their thick beakers and love them. Overall, if I needed another stand, I'd buy this again.
