I use this spring scale to make measurements for delicate adjustments to reel-to-reel tape recorders. It is easy to read and nicely made. It is also a great value.

I build a lot of different models with old Erector, Meccano, Marklin and other metal, nut and bolt types sets. Many times it's been useful to know exactly how much force that friction takes up in a drive chain, and a small scale such as this works perfectly to tell me exactly what is the best set-up to use. It's invaluable to me for seeing the small differences that various configurations change in the friction amount in various drive mechanisms, and reads well at low levels. Of course I'm normally looking for the least friction possible, and with this very light duty scale it's and easy set up and measurement for comparisons. For me this is a great little unit, though I really wish it were more compact. I do like the fact that it is dual scaled, though N to grams is pretty simple.

This one is on the light end for N's from what I could find, and it worked perfectly for my application. Still use it often over a year later.
