Flask is heavy walled and made of borosilicate glass. The opening is 2 inches inner diameter so use a #11 stopper. The barbed glass side arm accepts a vacuum hose. The 3.3 borosilicate is prefect for heating and cooling as it has a low coefficient of thermal expansion. The flask is typically used to create a vacuum and filter solutions. Flask also works as a Buchner flask for filtering solutions in chemistry, physics, and life science labs and educational settings.
- Flask measures 15" tall, and it's base is 9" in diameter.
- Neck has an inner diameter of 52mm (2") and an outer diameter of 60mm (2.4"). Best used with a #11 stopper.
- Side arm measures 1.6" in length and is 12mm in diameter. Inner diameter of arm is 5mm.
Autoclavable, with superior chemical durability. Low temperature gradient- can withstand high temperatures & thermal shocks. Eisco Labs Borosilicate glass has the following heat tolerances: Strain Point 515°C | Annealing Point 565°C | Softening Point 820°C.

I had a 5L flask implode and shoot glass and acid all over my room. Luckily I had just stepped out of the room for about 30 seconds to get a drink when it happened, but needless to say, I was really upset and I still haven’t been able to fully clean up the mess it made. I got sent a replacement which is nice, but I’m kind of afraid to use it now after this first one imploding, especially since the replacement one I got has a couple bubbles in the casting and a light scratch on the side wall that I can feel with my fingernail. I’m debating wether or not to use it or send it back for a replacement one or just get a complete refund and buy another brand. If I can’t be certain in using my equipment, it’s not worth having around, especially if it has the potential to cause serious injury.Update: Just as I thought, I wound up finally using this flask and not even 5 minutes into vacuum filtering a liquid it cracked right along the bottom where the bubbles in the glass were. And go figure the return window for this is now passed. I new I shouldn’t have accepted this and returned it right away. I would steer far away from these flasks. They can’t hold even the slightest of negative pressure. They are worthless as a vacuum flask. I want my money back for this crap.

The flask cracked and broke after a few uses with vacuum. Very sad because I really liked the funnel otherwise. The glass is too thin, which made the flask light and easy to handle but could not withstand the vacuum.

I’ve owned several of this size filtering flask and these are the only ones I haven’t broken yet. Neck is thick enough to handle some stress and the vacuum connection is a nice barb size and shape.

Overall, cant find much to complain about for this one. Nice a sturdy while still light. My only complaint is it could be a little bit taller but thats my own fault for overfilling sometimes. Fits snugly with my buchner funnel and has been very reliable since my purchase. Cleans very easily.
