This is actually a very good push pull balance scale and is exactly what I was expecting. No, this scale isn’t for legal trade, but it’s perfect for classroom use. In fact, this scale will be heading to a middle school science classroom to use in their experiments. The scale is actually quite solid and very easy to read.Digital scales are much easier to use and if you want extreme accuracy, take a pass on this one. It’s adjustable and can be used in conjunction with one if necessary. I do have heavy-duty scales that are very accurate, but for under $15 this one is a bargain.

I'm happy with the functionality of this. I wish the graduations were a little easier to read, but fortunately the light yellow plunger color helps with legibility. I would avoid getting any scales of this type with dark plungers becasue it makes it harder to read the graduations, which are printed in black.I like the push and pull dual functionality, and I've not seen that before in a spring scale. That being said, for about 4 to 5x the price of this you can get a digital push pull scale that is **much** easier to read. This is likely to be more durable with kid's handling it, though.
