  • OOLITIC LIMESTONE | Oolitic limestone is a carbonate rock formed from the cementation of thousands of ooids. Ooids are tiny nodules formed from the accumulation of carbonate material around a nucleus. When cemented together and lithified, these ooids can form rock.
  • GREAT FOR GEOLOGY CLASSROOMS | Oolitic limestone forms in reef or lagoon environments, and is useful in the classroom for lessons on depositional facies, sedimentary rocks, and stratigraphy. This set of six samples is excellent for group study and examination
  • GEOLOGIST SELECTED | Each specimen is selected and hand processed by an actual geologist, ensuring each sample exhibits defining features
  • LOCALLY PROCESSED | Our rock and mineral samples are sourced from a variety of locations around the world and are processed in Victor, NY
  • LABELED PACKAGING | Samples are packaged in a transparent bag, labeled & barcoded for easy identification

Limestone rock in chunks is hard to find! These specimen rocks were the perfect size for what my church needed for science experiments during Vacation Bible School. I could've used many more for our experiments but at this price I could only afford two packs for 24 one time use rocks.

I used these for an experiment, but they came in such small pieces. They looked a bit broken and had lots of dust and pieces in the pack when they arrived.

It is exactly what the title and description say. Pieces of limestone. We got about 6 small pieces in our bag. I did not purchase these for the classroom or any kind of specimen showcase. I actually purchased them for some of my isopods that are naturally found in limestone caves. The limestone is decent quality and is definitely limestone.

These pieces are small, which is what I was looking for for my isopods. These are great value as long as you know that beforehand though!

I used these to add to a rubber ducky isopod enclosure. they seem to like it, and I know it's helping with their environment so I'm very happy with them

If your kid is doing a science fair project about sink holes, acidity, or erosion, these work well. Not all the same size though, there was a difference of about 20g from smallest to largest.
