I bought this for my 16" laptop, which measures 14" wide. The laptop pad is barely 15" wide, so be sure to measure the actual width of your laptop rather than going by screen size. The slideout tray for the mouse works nicely. Other reviewers have complained that the mouse does slide, but consider if you're using this pad on your lap, it may not be perfectly level, so it's not reasonable to assume the mouse will never slide. Overall, it works very well for my needs.

I am a closet designer and input measurement in my computer and design in my clients home. My software is very dependent on using a mouse as opposed to a touchpad. This product is a lifesaver. I am often in messy closets, construction zones, pantries, etc. with no place to set my laptop and certainly no appropriate surface to operate a mouse. This works beautifully. It can be switched from right to left for the mouse pad. I drag this everywhere, use it daily, and it is holding up really well so far.

My husband uses it, but it is very much smaller than expected. The mouse pad slide out is barely large enough for mouse movement.

Just what I wanted. Like the slide-out mouse pad and for lefties it sides both ways. Non slip pads work well.

It's like a take a desk anywhere I go. I don't feel the heat from my laptop and it fits slim with my laptop bag.

I consider this unit to be an upgrade of the other, smaller, version that is available without the handle. This because t's a more appropriate overall size, the additional features, and the overall quality of the pad.The size is just about right on this one, as it's about 1/2 inch larger on both the length and width. This may not sound like much, however it should make sense by reading on. The previous pad, the other model, if you were to line up the front or rear edges of my 15" laptop, one of the sets of feet would be hanging off the edge. In my case, it was about 50% of the rear feet with the front edge lined up flush. Originally, I didn't think anything of it, however it slowly started to unevenly wear the feet down over long-term use and leave persistent, yet non-permanent markings. The wear is so minor, I wouldn't call it damage, yet I wasn't pleased nonetheless. Additionally, it would slide off of the edge from time to time. Otherwise, to get all four feet on the pad you'd have to center it just right, which was not something I wanted to do every time I used it, which was every day. Now, with this upgraded unit, the rear feet probably make contact with 90% or so pad (see image). The three features that differentiate this unit from the smaller model are the handle, the slide guard lip that pops up from the bottom edge, and the two collapsible legs on the underside of the pad. I never thought I'd use the handle, but it's nice to have and I use it every time I handle it. I also wasn't sure I'd use the pop-up lip on the bottom edge, that prevents the laptop from sliding, however I use it every time as well. I used to simply line up the front and side edges by hand, which was perfectly fine, yet using the guard is oh-so slightly faster as you're only lining up the width of your machine. Additionally, you know if won't be able to slide in the direction regardless. The one thing I will mention about the guard is that the latch protrudes from the lip and touches the front edge of the laptop instead of it sitting fully flush on the guard (see image). I'm a little wary this might slowly wear a small spot where the latch is over time, but I think I'm overly concerned about it since the machine stays put and the latch is plastic. Finally, there are two, small legs on the rear corners of the pad that elevate it approximately 3/4 of an inch. However, these are only appropriate for desktop use, and even if you tried to use them in your lap, you have to position the pad just right and not move, and regardless they would start to dig into your lap.As for the quality of the unit, the height of the pad is a hair taller than the smaller version and therefore slightly more sturdy. It does not flex, nor creak, as much as the other version. My only gripe about the unit, and the reason for four stars, is that it does not have sufficient slide prevention on the underside. You'll see in the pictures there are rubber feet in the corners and middle of the unit. The smaller version has rubber pads that stretch the length of the top and bottom edges that make full contact with your legs and therefore keeps it in place. The rubber feet on this unit are perfectly fine for a desk, however not so when using as intended, in your lap. It makes it a bit slippery and prone to sliding off if you have to reach for something, say the nightstand. In the worst case scenario, it could allow the machine to go crashing onto the floor if you're not physically holding it secure as you're leaning far enough in a particular direction. In the end, it does the job, and it does it well. It keeps your lap cool, which is important for me using a mobile desktop, a.k.a. a gaming laptop, and more importantly allows the machine to breathe properly by allowing space for the fans to operate. I would purchase again.

These trays are very lightweight which makes it great to travel with. My laptop fits perfectly on it and stays put. The trays that pull out on either side seem a bit flimsy but to be honest I have another one (almost exactly the same) and it has lasted over 4 years so far. I only bought this one because I forgot to bring my old one with me on a 2 month vacation. Can't live without it when there is no desk.
