In January, I ordered the Ego extension pole for the saw kit that I also purchased at that time. Needless to say, nobody does tree trimming in ND in January! However, we did open the package of the saw, saw that it looked fine, had no reason to suspect that the extension pole wasn't also fine (we have an EGO riding mower and other EGO products that have always been perfect), and put both boxes away until Spring. I did take out the card out of the box that related to registering the warranty. I went to the EGO warranty registration website, set up an account, and went through the registration process. Thinking I had completed the process, I promptly forgot about the whole thing. Then, in April, the weather had broken, the kids came, and we set about cleaning up the yard and the trees that were downed from ice and wind. The saw worked perfectly. When we opened the box for the extension, we found that the coupler that joined the pole to the saw was broken! We have been trying to work with EGO every since to resolve the issue. Their latest rejoinder is that there is a 90 day warranty on the pole because it is an accessory and we are past the 90 days! The warranty card that came in the box makes no distinction between the tool itself and "accessories". They say that we will have to purchase another extension pole! Needless to say, we are very frustrated!UPDATE: We had a contact from EGO after this review posted. The contact said that if we went to their Facebook page, they would be able to help us. Well. Here we are a week and several calls/messages later, and here is the final word from EGO. "...with this being a part on an accessory this is not an available part and being outside of the 90 day accessory warranty this is not covered by warranty. We would recommend a authorized dealer for purchasing any replacement or accessories....." (Remember this is an accessory that was broken when we got it!!) So much for EGO standing behind their products!!
