This hammer worked well at chipping a line into large rocks and allowing me to break them open. It did the same for concrete that had been poured around posts. I did eventually upgrade to a 12 lb sledge hammer to get the job done in a few swings instead 5 to 10 minutes of chipping. But while using it as I did, I could tell that it was durable and would work well for any intended uses.

Took this with me to Arkansas to dig for crystals. It worked well with no issues after hitting rocks all day. Still has a perfect point on it. Good item.

I like the size for ease of carry, and has plenty of heft for small jobs. Used this weekend and held up pretty good. Broke up some rock looking for minerals and it held up well. Held it's point and face without bending or spalling off. I purchased mostly for crevassing while out panning and sluicing so didn't need a high dollar pick, and expected it to be mostly chinesium metal, but was pleasantly surprised. Held up as well as the brick hammers I've used in masonry (19 years) will buy another if this one wears out

Good little hammer for the price, it’s fairly lightweight and small enough to fit in my backpack when I’m rockhounding. It does what it’s supposed to, breaks rocks.

Within seconds of opening, a handle full of cast defects were visible. A series of voids are visible along the neck. But it’s a 20$ hammer so….
