This is exceptionally comfortable drum throne with a very solid design and build. Professional build, very stable.

So close, but not a good buy. Yes it can be made to function, but there are a couple of fatal flaws in the design. The center post is heavily chromed and the base tightening screw simply can't get a tight enough grip on that shaft. On a hard smooth floor this allows the feet to slip out, and the center post to contact the ground (With a rather startling thump! Did it to me twice with basically no warning.). There are a couple of basic design flaws that allow this to happen: (1) The geomettry of the tripod feet is wrong. Distance 'A' is actually shorter than distance 'B'. This makes it possible for the feet to get above the post base as shown in the first photo. (2) The chromed center post is so smooth that the tripod base tightening knob can't develop enough friction to hold the base legs at radius on a smooth hard floor. The second photo shows a quick and dirty fix that has enabled me to use this throne: I'm been a lighting guy for years and have a few stage 'C' clamps lying around. Putting a 'C' clamp under the upper slide fitting as shpwn gets a good enough grip on the post to keep the seat from unexpectedly dropping. Dimples the shaft a bit, but that's the point. This will get you through a gig or two. A better fix would be to fine knurl the center post over the range where the adjustment knob is likely to be tightened. This would allow the tighting knob/pressure plate collar to get the grip on the center shaft that it needs. You could also rebuild the legs such that distance 'B' is less than distance 'A', but that would be a whole lot more effort than most consumers would be willing to take on.

Nice padding and it comes in 2 pieces for ease of transport and storage. Needs a stop designed to keep the legs from folding up when you are sitting on it. No key required. Wing nut type thumb screws.

I own a lotta drum stools and this is the cheapest throne i bought so far. It's too soon to talk about quality or rigidness but so far so good. The seats a bit hard but i guess it'll soften up a bit later on like some other premium thrones.

This throne is comfortable and sturdy like the much thicker and heavier thrones out there, but much lighter and thinner. This allows for storage with my other hardware and I don’t have to carry it separately. The memory foam rocks!

got it b/c i'm too tall for a regular throne and too poor for another roc-n-soc.not great if you want your throne tall, as it gets wobblier the higher you crank it.at max height, it's basically unusable -- it just jitters to either side with the slightest movement of your legs or torso.so i lowered the seat until it was stable and now it's the same height as the throne i was replacing with it (lol).feels pretty cheap overall. parts seem flimsy. hard to say it's a ripoff, b/c *technically* the seat can reach the height listed on the sales page, and it is a lot cheaper than the more well-known brands. might be worth a look if you're not worried about height and you tend to be gentle with your gear.if you want a tall throne, don't get this one

I’ve been playing drums for over 30 years, I have been gigging solidly for the last 20. I bought this throne for my 13 year old son who is getting started and I didn’t want to spend a fortune. Very good quality construction, comfortable, and at a very reasonable price. I highly recommend Edge Drum Hardware!

I ordered Edge Hardware Design NE1 drum throne on 11/29/2021 and received it on 12/4/2021. Easy to assemble and adjust to whatever height you want in the range it's designed for. I've played drums for over 30 years sitting on many different drum thrones and have not seen one as high in quality for the price as this NE1. No wobble that most other thrones have. If I had known about Edge Hardware Design earlier, before I had all the drum hardware I need, I likely would have purchased some of their other products just based on the quality of this NE1 throne.
