Got this for my 02 grand Cherokee 4.0. Not stroked, still is a 4.0. Paired with a lunati cam, verry modified intake, pacesetter header, hp tuners mpvi2 programmer. The header needed portmatch on the top due to the port being taller(FYI). Haven't run it at the track yet. It does chirp rear tires(it's all wheel drive!!!).

I went back and forth on buying one. It' not cheap and there are good "upgraded" cast heads out there for less. I've been lightening my TJ with aluminum panels and other lightweight parts, so with the Jeep on a "diet" I went ahead with the Edlebrock head.Torque, weight reduction and reliability are all goals in my build. Jeep has 4.88 gears and 35" tires. Current motor setup is a K&N filter and short intake tube. Edlebrock head, Comp Cams Xtreme 4x4 cam, with matching lifters, pushrods etc. Exhaust is a Rugged Ridge header into stock cats, Thrush welded muffler. You need the later intake ('98+ IIRC) for this head and earlier exhaust manifold ('97- IIRC), or just run a header. Seems odd, but basically when Edlebrock designed this they wanted it to work on any AMC/Jeep block but use the best flowing stock parts available so you can get the most out of it. Personally I would have preferred to use the stock manifolds but they would not have worked with my cats. Rather than risk popping the check engine light by messing with factory cats and oxygen sensors I opted for a header. I may re-evaluate this later, but for now I'm happy with this setup.A few thoughts on this head:1. It's light, probably half the weight of a stock head. I'd guess 30-40 lbs off the front axle and it makes it way easier to put in without pulling the motor. This is a great offset for the weight you add with a winch.2. You can change all the lifters without pulling the head. On some of the older heads this was possible but on the newer ones it is not. I like that Edlebrock machined this so you could swap cams without pulling the head. (a flex head magnetic pick up tool and lifter puller makes cam swaps fairly easy). Not something I've seen advertised anywhere but I think it's a great feature if you want to make changes later.3. The valves and springs are setup for stock length push rods. This is fine since it uses stiffer LS springs which don't float above 4500 rpm like the stockers do when coupled with a more aggressive cam. It is a single spring setup so there is no need to remove an inner spring when breaking in your cam. Just another little thing that makes setup and tuning a breeze,4. Excellent quality. Very nice machine work, perfect fitment, all holes seem to have helicoil inserts already installed which is a nice touch.5. This will not turn your straight 6 into a fire breathing monster. It will not replicate an LS swap (neither will your stroker...)6. II don't think you will get much if you just installed this head by itself. It needs a cam to make the most of it's combustion chambers. Exhaust and intake mods as well as a larger TB and heavier injectors should allow tuning to it's full potential.Bottom line, I would buy this again and I am very happy with the power in my non-stroked setup.

I'm really happy so far with the performance. The bad about it is the finishing. There were multiple threaded holes for the valve cover that needed to be thread chased. There was also head bolt holes that had mill shavings left in them. Be sure to check and clear out all the bolt holes. Clearly this is a quality control issue.
