I have always used these for the past 6/7 years in our elementary school and have never needed to replace them. I jsut buy more as we get more students.

These look excellent in a room. Fairly easy to assemble, even for a ten year old. A bit of attention and patience needed. Likely first you will assemble it upside down or on the wrong wrung and have to redo.1 in five had a slight imperfection on the top, not enough to return or notice much. 1 in 12 had a large dent, again not enough to return or notice much as it was the back lower part. Weight is perfect. Seems the best option for a student as being so adjustable in height is of the utmost necessity to a child for proper writing posture and lass back pain from hunching. No fumes, even for the highly sensitive. Good strong durable tops. They are made of much cheaper metal then the original old school desks. The tops are likely some pressed plastic. Inside, there are a couple of screw holes, but that’s fine. I’m highly particular with all matters to the desks and find these to be the best option available, besides solid pine wood, which is hard to find now, and needs a new one for proper sizing every 2-3 years. Many look like wood but are now fake with ugly plastic wood on top so beware with those!Teacher/Montessori

I use this while sitting at my sofa as a personal desk. It works wonderfully! Gives me plenty or room inside, I just use small boxes (from Amazon and Etc.)...I cut the flaps off and put things inside. The top gives quite a bit of room with the depth...My laptop, coffee mug, and a pencil mug with my "stuff" inside all fit well on the top with no problems! I also LOVE that I can adjust the height so I can use independently with a chair if I want. VERY good price on this. Mine did have one place ( a small crack) on the edge of the top and a small "ding" in the powder coating right inside the part under the top where you store things. It's not bad and I chose to keep it. No other issues!

I'm very happy with this purchase. This desk requires at least two people to assemble, and it worked best to screw in the outer edges first. Be careful of possible sharp places on the metal, around the screw holes! My desk had only one such bit, and it isn't a danger, once everything is put together.Another reviewer says she's using it to hold a heavy IBM typewriter (I remember using one!), and yes, that would work. This is a very solid little desk. Mine currently is holding a scanner. We have 4-year-old twins, so I expect I will be buying two more of these desks. On the lowest setting, it is a comfortable height to pair with 12-inch school chairs, and I can imagine this desk being useful for a number of years, for my children. They were very excited to see something just their size.I intended to get one and see what the quality was, and use it as my own portable laptop desk, or whatever general thing we needed a small space for. This beats a tray table, any day, and provides some storage space.I'm not sure why the maple version is $30 more, though. Also, if this is a help to anyone, there's a similar desk by Flash Furniture, which costs less. I was concerned the quality would be less, too, so I chose this one.

My wife and I home school our daughter who is currently in first grade and needed a desk that wasn't distracting, bulking and poor quality. While searching we came across the ECR4Kids Open-Front Student Desk and was immediately interested. However, I was concerned it would be wobbly or not sturdy enough/big enough for day to day schooling. I was very happy as soon as I opened the box to see a solid product. It was very simple to put together and I did it in about 5 minutes tops. Keep in mind I'm not a stranger with your basic tools but I am in no way a handyman. In other words, if I can do it anyone can. Once it was put together it was solid still and the adjustable hight was a big plus as she's only just 6 years old and feels much more comfortable sitting out a lower level that fits her needs. The book box is spacious (obviously if you are intending to store everything in it you are unrealistic) it fits all her day to day necessities such as her supply box, notebooks, rule, charts and still has room to spare. Also, live in an apartment in a city where space is a luxury and we have to use it wisely and this allows for that as well. It is a product that if treated well will last the rest of her school years. All in all, I would recommend this to anyone looking for a simple work desk for their child.

I'm apparently one of the few people left in America who types on a typewriter. Mine is an IBM Wheelwriter, a big beast of a machine measuring about 21 inches wide by 17 inches deep and weighing about 25 pounds. The computer stands I looked at in office supply stores seemed to be much too flimsy to support my heavy typewriter without vibrating or falling over. I browsed around on Amazon and came across this children's desk. It's ideal for my purposes. The height is adjustable, so I was able to set it for 27 inches high. It's very sturdy, so it doesn't jiggle one iota while I'm typing. It was easy to assemble by this 68-year-old woman. I set it upside-down on a chair so I didn't have to crawl around on the floor, which my knees don't tolerate anymore. It was very well packed, so mine arrived with no dings, scrapes, chips, or any other flaws. The book box is plenty big enough to hold my boxes of stationery side by side, so I can eliminate the rolling cart with drawers I was storing my paper in. I love when a product not only meets all my goals but exceeds my expectations.
