The timing chain lock tool worked great. The metal rod did bend up pretty bad, and it took 3 attempts to lock the chain, but it did work. Must got in from in front of the cam phaser since the piece is too big to pass down the back side of the phaser and block. This was my first time using the tool, usually I disassemble the front of the engine. For 7 bucks I can't complain. Made the job take an hour instead of 10.

needed this tool for my 2v mustang hoping it would work because it shows for 3v and up but it does however work for a 2v if you need it for that.

This tool worked to hold the timing chain tension on a camshaft and rocker arm replacement job I had on a '12 Expedition 5.4L. As always, make sure this tool is firmly in place before anything gets removed. Once everything is reinstalled and timed, you can rotate the crank slightly to help unlodge the tool from the chain it's pressed into, if you're worried about breaking it when it gets pulled out. Good luck.

Haven't used it yet, but it looks very high quality. I'm sure it will do the job.

My project would include changing out the phaser sprockets on my 2008 F150 5.4 Triton engine. After doing much research on the recommended procedure, and watching a Ford mechanic on the internet use one of these tools, I knew that it was absolutely the right tool for the job!The wedge tool worked very well. There was a short learning period the first time to use it.Please keep in mind that the slope side always goes up, and that the wedge must be inserted FIRMLY between the two runs of timing chain, until you feel the chain tensioners click - then push a little deeper to feel an additional click.Make sure that the wedge is centered on the chains. An additional recommendation is, to slightly reshape the wedge’s wire handle to provide more working clearance for removal and replacement of the phaser sprocket.Bumping the wire handle could loosen positioning of the wedge, and it’s holding power.Lessons learned - The tool worked well and the phaser sprockets were changed without issue.I highly recommend this tool for that job.

Pretty much does what it says. I changed my cams recently and this little tool helped get the job done. Just make sure you push in down real good against the timing chain, when you get it right you can kinda hear and feel it snap in. Can be kind of a hassle getting it out, but nothing a little elbow grease won’t solve. Overall it works
