My roof basket was damaged upon arrival. The mating sections are bent out of shape, preventing assembly and installation from being possible. There should be no fixing or modifications necessary for a brand new item. The overall construction of the rack is poor. The metal is very thin. It is held together with small tack welds, and has many areas for water to get in. These racks are also known to rust internally like crazy, and leak rusty water all over your vehicle. These would probably completely rust out in a few short years. A decent quality basket should last for many years and perhaps decades or more with maintenance. This may look similar to Yakima or Curt baskets, but do not be fooled. It is no where near the build quality, and quite a bit smaller in many ways. It's not actually 67" long either. If you live in Canada, I highly suggest just getting the princess auto roof basket along with an extension. It is better in every way, larger, and nearly the same price when it's on sale. I thought this basket was essentially the same as the princess auto one, but it is paltry in comparison.Another thing to note is that there are no extensions available to purchase for this basket. There are similar extensions on Amazon and other places. They look close but they are in no way compatible.

The instructions are just okay they could be better. The instructions were a little light however once assembled it was easy to mount on the vehicle rack

This isn't the best rack out there by a long shot. The tubing looks a bit on the flimsy side with sheet thickness seeming a bit thin. In fact one of the tubes was dented at end with no apparent damage to the box, so I'll have to blame quality control on this, not handling. I was able to unwarp the tube-end enough to be able to connect it to the other tube as "instructed". The instructions were actually trash, but I'm my engineer mind was able to figure it out pretty easy. As other reviewers have stated, the "twist" nut that was include was not the correct thread. The U-bolt is a M6 (metric) and the nut was a 1/4" (SAE). I got a set of M6 wingnuts from Home Depot and it mated just fine. SELLER, PLEASE CORRECT THIS, IT'S AN UNNECESSARY EXTRA EXPENSE FOR US. The U-bolt was also about 1/4-1/2in too long on each side and would gouge anything laid on top of them. I cut about 1/4 off to be sure, which took a bit of time with Dremel rotary tool. This would certainly depend on the thickness of your crossbar. If you have thicker crossbars, this may not be necessary. Others have complained about rusting, I haven't seen it yet after a week of use that include the rack being rained occasionally over two days. So far I haven't seen any rust at the joints. It's now hanging on my garage wall so we'll see if it develops over time. I may spray some Rustoleum at the joints at some point to prevent this when I have time. The rack did survive the trip full of cargo with no issues and looked fine when I finally took it off the car roof. So for the money I guess I can't complain, though I would have gladly paid a bit more for a better product if it would have been shipped to me on time for my weekend camping trip. The shipping for this rack was surprisingly quick. Got it drop shipped from the seller two day earlier than Amazon's ETA.

This are easy ti install! Great manual along with, the task seems to be pretty smooth!Very little noise at high speeds which was really worth the price as I was worried about it making noise but it doesn’tFirm holders and build is also good, did few trips with it. I think it should be good for occasional users!

I bought it on November 20th and just got around to installing it on Dec 11th. The first thing I have to say about it is that is sturdy. The second thing is two of the bars plus the front plate either were bent or crumpled. I would like to return it but I'm getting ready to go on a trip and because I really need it. So it took me about an hour to straighten out the bars and I had to leave the front looking the way it is, really nothing I could do about it anyway. Now they might say that it was the Post Office, but where these bars were, there was no way they would have been bent unless all the bard across would have been bent, but only 2 plus 1 of the outer bars on the bottom part was. Also one of the screws had the plastic melted in it and I had to use a tool to get all of the plastic out of the grooves so that the screw was usable. I all so put a picture showing how the screw should look.As you can see in the pictures if it had been the post office it would have smashed all the way across, but the box was not damaged at all. I am a 61-year-old woman and this is something I did not need to do or fix (Woman power) when there's a need, there always has to be a way. It took me 4hrs to put it together. My advice to you is to open it immediately, making sure your item is in good condition.

I used this to drive from California to New Jersey in April 2022. I just removed the device from the car October 28. It remains in perfect shape. I took the advice of a previous reviewer who recommended to apply rust resistant paint prior to using it. You will see the paint job the device comes with is terrible and comes off with a slight scratch. I applied 2 coats of rust resistant black spray prior to using it. The device is in perfect condition left on the from May through October in New Jersey. There is no rust and no scratches on it. The device is very sturdy and perfect size form our Land Rover Sport. It was a little tricky figuring out how to attach the rack to the roof rails. The directions aren’t helpful for that. Place the rack on top of the car sitting on the roof rails. Apply the plastic peace concave up under the roof rail. Then place the metal horseshoe shaped piece with screws on both ends through the side openings of the plastic piec pointing up. Place the metal bar facing downward and pass the screws through each opening of the metal bar and then use the nuts to fasten it down.

Really liked the Product unfortunately the mounting brackets did not fit my truck because there was none so I also reinforced some of the welding because I carry a lot of weight on top of their only problem that I’ve had is Rust coming out of the tubes that you put together So I put some silicone and now it’s working well

This is a budget rack. The end tubes were bent some , so the first hour was spent fixing the damaged areas so that the rack could be assembled. Beyond that, it was easy to assemble and fits well on top of my vehicle. The spot welding of the tubes are at best minimal? I anticipate the basket will work well for a period of time but may be subject to damage due to the quality of welds? I would say, it is a good starting point if you are just getting into over landing and need somewhere to store gear. They of course included NO extra screws, nuts, or washers...therefore if one is missing ( as this one was?) its a trip to the hardware store to finish installation. Looks Nice, fits nice, but not of great quality.
