These are so pretty! I love that the gold inside has a wrinkled look instead of being smooth and glossy! I will use remote controlled tea lights in these once I decide where to hang them, so I’m not having to reach in to turn candles off and on. I definitely wouldn’t use real, open flame candles in these.

I was disappointed in these when I received them because they did not look as I expected from the description and photos. I gave them a 3 star (average) rating after strongly considering a 2 star because of the price. I decided on the 3 star however because they are well made and had they been as described the price wouldn’t have seemed as out of line.As I said, the sconces are made well from a nice weight metal. They are described as “Rustic wood-textured exterior paired with a sleek gold interior”. They are not in the least wood “textured” as they are smooth metal with no texture at all. They are also not painted a wood grain, they have just left brush strokes in the paint which just looks sloppy. The gold interior is in no way “sleek”. It appears to have been painted over an uncleaned base and is grainy in places and has ripples, crackles and scratches.I will keep these because I can repaint them and use them but $49 is a lot to pay for something that you have to finish yourself before you can use it.

These sconces are very beautiful and make a great pair. I'm actually using fake, flameless candles inside, so that they flicker wonderfully--and there's no risk of the candles causing a fire.
