Not Smooth ?It’s made of Cast Iron, o.k. ?It’s nonstick BECAUSE it’s not smooth. Try applying Scotch Tape to Sandpaper and see what happens 😜If you insist on totally smooth, use Pyrex.Oh, wait…..Pyrex can’t cope with open flame 🔥Bummer…..

First time using hot plates and it was really cool! The only bad side of these, the first time I washed it and next day it had rusts already. But got to clean and it was all good again.

I am very pleased with this skillet. I am using it primarily for steak. In the past my steak would be just warm or even cool by the time I got the steak off of the grill, fixed my plate, and sat down to eat. Now my steak stays warmer longer and it is a more enjoyable meal. The steak even seems to be juicier! I will be buying more so guest will have one when they visit and I will be giving some away as gifts. I am a fan!

This is cool. It's rough around the edges and not machined well after the casting. The craftsmanship could use some effort. But it does the job just fine. The measurements are a little deceiving because they must be of the outer edges. You can't fit much on this 8x4" plate.

It's exactly what we wanted. It's well made, easy to clean, perfect size and great quality. Comes with prong to transfer it from grill to table and a wooden base. Perfection! Very happy!

It’s very small and the wood seems flimsy. The cast iron does not stay on wood. We have many sizzle plates and bought this for the handle only. Good thing as I won’t use it as I’m afraid it will slide off. Do not recommend

This went with a Japanese themed gift pack for the hubby. He likes really hot food and I thought he would use it regularly. No so. It's pretty small. You can't really even cook for one in it. The quality of all of the pieces are good. It seems sturdy and strong with a nice wood base. The fork tool to pick up the hot plate works well.
