Had this installed by an electrician last month and had a power outage last night. Power went back on early this am and I heard a loud pop from my breaker box. This breaker failed and had to be replaced. Returning it today.

All indications were Ground Fault protection needed for garage addition for EV charging. Installed as directed... kept getting 'nuisance' trips... when charging... when NOT charging... then, days without issue. Until 'trips' started again. Electrician called. Recommended getting rid of Ground Fault Breaker. Charging unit is internally protected... GFCI 'sees' this and randomly 'trips' ... hmmm $21 50A breaker... and NOW $136 paperweight. Live and learn... moving on

I got this for a car charging outlet. It does supply up to 50 amps but after trying to charge my car at 50 amps, the thermoprotect kicked it off. I thought it was a defective unit and called the manufacturer. They told me the do not support Amazon products however they did spend time on the phone with me. Turns out breakers can only run at like 80% for long durations. My car still charges quickly, but I keep it set at 40 amps to keep the breaker from throwing.

Just like mom used to make! (mom was a “Rosie the Riveter”).What can I say, it’s exactly what I ordered.

My spa is wired through one of these breakers, which failed after several years of use. Local electrical suppliers had none in stock, backorders had no estimated time of fulfillment, and the projected cost was very high. I found this one on Amazon with a reasonable delivery date and cost.DIY installation was easy, the new item appears identical to the old one, and it worked all winter.

Used in an external site for a spa. Ensure the enclosure is the same type of connection to the bus.
