This was a direct replacement for an old GE breaker, type THQL-GFCI, catalog number THQL-1115GF. Had a hard time confirming in advance that it would fit into the existing panel. This Eaton (Cutler-Hammer) unit fit exactly into the same slot, and works well. Easy installation.

GFCI breakers can be unreliable and trip for now reason. The more often they trip, the more often they trip. After troubleshooting problems with the old one, we could find no reason for it tripping all the time, and ordered this as an exact replacement. The tripping problems have gone away.We could have replaced it with a regular breaker, sort of like replacing a frequently-blowing fuse with a penny, but I assume the GFCI breaker was installed for a reason, so we got the correct breaker.Considering how problematic these things can be, I can understand the frustration people experience when they trip for no good reason. It's a great concept, but the execution causes almost as many problems as it's supposed to prevent. People WILL bypass these if they cause enough trouble. A regular breaker is less than half the price of one of these, and prevents spurious tripping, but will not warn you of an unsafe condition. For some people that's an acceptable solution to a constant annoyance -- too many false alarms and it gets disconnected, like the smoke detector that always goes off when you use the stove, a car alarm that goes off if you breathe on it.People who design "safety" products need to take into account the human frustration with constant false alarms, and the tendency to bypass or remove these devices when they cause problems. False alarms should be UNACCEPTABLE in devices that are supposed to protect us, otherwise there's little point having them.
