This thing just works and has no friction discs so it will last forever compared to a posi unit. I do sometimes hear the tires grabbing on tight turns on wet or dirt roads but nothing much. If you are having a hard time deciding on a locker for your GM truck I'd highly recommend this.

Great upgrade to the factory posi.use the following race/bearing to make this work for this year of GM 10 bolt.Bearing number TMK-LM102949Race number TMK-LM102911No limited slip additive is needed.I was able to reuse my factory shims, I strongly recommend when doing this job to buy some additional shims just in case.It’s a bit on the pricy side of things, in this case you get what you pay for.

Used it in my 2006 Silverado 10 bolt to replace the g80. This thing rocks. Can't even tell it's there when I drive through parking lots and tight spots, and it lights up both tires no problem when I want it to. It has a smooth engagement, much better than the crappy g80. Night and day difference for the snowy winter roads in my lil 2wd short box. It's not some cheesy knock off trutrac either. It's a real genuine Eaton Detroit Trutrac.

Perfect replacement for broken g80-installed myself in driveway,be sure to get the correct new bearings and races and change the axle seals while you have it apart.Also bought 6 qts of gear lube (non synthetic) so I can change the oil again in about 500 miles,so far it’s as smooth as can be don’t even notice any difference with it,time will tell. I’ll update with any changes that may occur but from all the reviews I’ve found about it I haven’t seen to many negative ones.Well worth the money and no more broken spider gears.Edit- well it’s been almost 2 years and I couldn’t be more satisfied with how well this works, the traction is amazing and well worth every dime, if your reading this chances are you blew up your g80 too trust me this is way better you won’t be disappointed just buy it.

I blew up 2 Yukon’s in my tahoe both of them broke the spider gears and of course yukon didn’t stand behind them. So decided to spend more and buy a better product that’s not made in China like everything Yukon sells. This thing works so much better. It’s acts like an open diff until you break traction. Or step on it. Night and day over a standard posi that drags the one wheel when turning and wears the tires out. I would recommend this to anyone that’s debating. And what ever you do don’t buy anything from Yukon or Randy’s ring and pinion unless want Chinese garbage.

Perfect fit in my truck and now it runs like a dream! My factory differential was wore out and the back end of my truck used to get around on me way to easy. Now, I have to really try to get it around. I didn't mind it being so loose back there, but when my wife drove it, I was always nervous she'd get it sideways and now I have some peace of mind knowing that she's going to hit corners without spinning out. I highly recommend this thing for anyone. My only gripe is about the bearings. If you are like me and having someone else install this, let them buy the bearings. I bought what I thought was the right ones, they weren't and they were destroyed getting them off.

This is the third Truetrac unit I've purchased and would buy again for another vehicle I'd get in the future. Bulletproof quality, much better than the stock GM G8 carrier.
