The bat was received much faster that expected; however, the description shows that the bat is certified for all fields including USA. However, when the bat arrived I noticed that USA was not listed on the bat but ISF, ASA, ISA, NSA, and USSSA were all listed on the bat.

Daughters first year of softball and this bat was more than enough for her at this level. Good weight and a good length. Would buy this again if she needed another weight or length.

Before buying a bat for a child, be sure to read the guide to buying a bat for a child. There is a good one on the Dicks Sporting Goods site I short cut below. The -10 rule is good to follow. The length of the bat minus the weight in ounces of the bat should be -(minus)10. If a bat is 29 inches long, it should weigh 19 ounces. This is a size for a small child or especially for a young girl. As the child gets stronger and taller, she can handle a longer and heavier bat, but keeping the -10 rule is a good guide to use for fast pitch softball. There is an easy test to determine the length of the bat as well. The bat should be as long as the child's arm is with her fingers touching the end of the bat, holding the bat knob in the middle of her chest with her arm held out to one side. Another measure is for her to hold the bat straight out in front of her with the knob against the center of her chest and her hand should reach the barrel of the bat easily enough so that she can hold the bat in place. The other test is to stand a bat next to the child's leg, and her hand should rest comfortably on the knob of the bat. That last test can be a bit tricky if your child has long legs. What measured correctly in the first 2 tests may not work with the leg check. I think here, it is a matter of which is comfortable for any one child. Be sure to not get too heavy a bat in the first year or two as the child is developing muscles and needs the lighter bat to be able to swing it quickly enough to hit a fast pitched softball. Just FYI.This bat here seems to be a good one for a girl just starting softball. It seems to be a good solid bat and the price is good as you will buy MANY bats over your child's career as a fast pitch softball player. For smaller children there are bats under $20 to $30 at Walmart. Those $300 to $400 bats are for the SERIOUS older player who want to aim for a college scholarship. Softball is a good place for girls who enjoy sports to aim for a "free" college education ...besides the just plain fun of playing softball!

This bat is perfect for our 5 year old daughter.I have to start by saying our daughter just turned 5 and this is her first time ever swinging a bat much less playing 6u softball. We went to a big box store and got the smallest bat that was approved for the league and it was too heavy and long. I was nervous about buying another bat but was pleasantly Surprised at how well she did with this bat. She got her first ever hit with this bat. We like it so much a couple other girls on her team ordered the same bat. I will keep recommending this bat to others.Side note we bought this bat at the beginning of the season and I a writing this review after the season was over. Also the bat has held up to 5 year olds banging and dragging it around like kids do
