I tried to countersink to see if that would work. Then realized one hole cannot be countersunk due to bend in the way of the bit. Stock bolts still do not work even with the countersink. For the extra trip to the hardware store and the cost of the bolts, I wish I'd have just purchased s set that came with what I needed. Would not buy again.

Great light mounts I did replace the allen heads and washers with stainless bolts.

very nice, quality fit finish and so what if I gotta change out the bolts- boo hoo get over it then you UPGRADE your Torx to stainless steel hex heads !

These are great brackets except for one thing...the stock windshield bolts will not work with these brackets. The bolts are too short. If the bracket holes were counter sunk like the holes are on the Jeep hinges the stock bolts may have worked. I had to go buy new bolts. The manufacturer should have either counter sunk the holes and tested them with stock Jeep hinge bolts, or they should have included new bolts with the hinges. That is the only reason I did not give them 5 stars.Other than that these brackets are great. They mount lower than other hinge light brackets, which lessens the amount the lights are in front of the windshield.

Quality is fine. I intended to use these mounts because I have a light rack system using the upper hinge bolts but there’s a lot of work involved with getting these brackets mounted on my 88 YJ. The lower hinge bolts have a bit on the inside that are difficult to get to. I almost took the plunge to removing my entire dash and mounting these but since I have my hi-lift mounted on my hood, these lower brackets just don’t have the height to make the time and effort of install worth having a set of lights there. I’ve since opted to add spread LED lights to my bumper and returned these brackets. Nothing wrong with the brackets themselves but the lower hinge placement is just a bit too low if you’ve got your jack on your hood too.
