UPDATE: after this review posted, I received a barrage of emails from the seller, first offering me a full refund, then backtracking and offering me a 50% refund, then telling me to call some other product team - basically, a mess. I'm not even going to bother. Just won't buy any more products from this manufacturer.I had a similar detail sander that lasted for years. This one - not so much. I had to re-finish a set of chairs and it only lasted through one and a half before it fell apart. The screw that holds the tip in place came off with the metal part that anchors it to the base and the sander can't be used at all without that part. Save yourself some money and invest in a more expensive and sturdier product that won't clutter your neighborhood landfill.

This product does the job for me. I am not a builder or a contractor; I just wanted a small lightweight sander to make the occasional painting project or fix-it job easier. I just used it to refinish my bathroom cabinets and my kitchen cabinets and it did a great job. The dust cap is a great idea, but it doesnβt collect all the dust - there was still plenty of cleanup after sanding. The only problem I had was that I canβt figure out how to add the βfingerβ attachment. The instructions were fairly useless in that regard. I think it would be a useful attachment if I only knew how it works. For that reason Iβm giving it 4 stars.

I bought this to refinish four outdoor teak chairs and tables. It held up well and has made the job much easier. As others noted the dust collector is difficult to open and rather nonfunctional. That doesnβt matter as it sands well whether it collects dust or not. It comes with various sandpaper grits which have slot shaped holes in a pattern allowing dust to be vacuumed away efficiently. Problem is that slot pattern doesnβt seem to be available anywhere online. I had to buy additional sandpaper with somewhat mismatching holes but overall good fit. It worked well anyway. I didnβt use the finger. So, for me the unit is a good value and did the job.

The pads kept falling off after some use. From what I read, if it gets too hot, you can melt the plastic velcro and then the pads wonβt stick. I havenβt been able to figure out how to order a new velcro pad or more sanding paper with the same exact holes as what came with the sander. The instructions didnβt have any of that information either. Guess you get what you pay for.

UPDATED REVIEW: It's August 1, 2024 and this little sander is still going strong. I was also able to find replacement sanding pads at Walmart. The reason I'm giving an updated review is because I have 2 minor issues with it.1. The duster cup. After many uses, i've noticed that the mesh has come unglued (in certain places) inside the duster cup so dust blows everywhere. Is there a way to buy or get a replacement duster cup without having to buy another sander? I've already tried to reglue the mesh, but it doesn't hold. I don't need another sander because this one still works, I just need a new duster cup.2. The little attachment piece for sanding corners is a great concept, but the design definitely needs work. The 2nd time I tried using it, it kept popping off while sanding. I even replaced the short screw that's supposed to hold it in place with a little longer one, but the same thing still happens.ORIGINAL REVIEW: Bought months ago and have used on multiple projects and its still working today. Would definitely recommend for light duty work.
