I had a pair of such pliers before, but the workmanship is so bad that I ordered the same pliers again from DuraTech, and DuraTech didn't disappoint. The grinding work is much better than my previous pair. My first three pictures show the details. Since these pliers are not forged in one go, they are all finished by hand grinding. Therefore, the quality of the manual work at the last stage is very important. I watched some online comparison between generic pliers and the name brand one, i.e., Lisle 37960, both are not that different. I looked at the pair of DuraTech I got and compared in detail against the Lisle pliers in the video, it seems the DuraTech is even better than the Lisle. Most likely, all these pliers are made in a couple of factories and the ones with better finishing work are labeled with some brand name like Lisle or DuraTech, while the lesser ones become generic products on Amazon. In that event, I like my DuraTech better. It is actually done with better workmanship, very well lubricated and very smooth. So it is as good as any electric disconnect pliers out there. That being said, all these pliers are not made with standards as high as established pliers. They are quite new and fashionable. So people pay less attention to the details. If I place a Channel Lock needle nose pliers and my DuraTech side by side, and look at the joint, we can see clearly that the factory that made it did not pay 100% attention in designing them. There should be a very well defined gap on the side of the joint. But that gap is missing on the DuraTech, so I can see some very thin metal edges there. Not very satisfying. But I also paid attention to the Lisle pliers and they are the same. So this is indeed as good as it gets. It is just that the best is not 100% perfect. Given the DuraTech is about half the price as the Lisle one after coupon, I would definitely choose the DuraTech. Much better value. Also all the generic ones have the same black-red color scheme as Lisle, DuarTech's blue-black color scheme looks a bit special and pleasant.

I thought I had all the tools I needed, but then I found this one. I have struggled with disconnecting harness connectors under the hood, and this tool makes that struggle a little bit easier. The finish is not up to par with expensive tools, but no matter. Function is what I am after.

I maintain my own vehicles. Every now and then I have to remove lots of electrical connectors, some of them being very hard to get at. These pliers were very helpful on my last job. I have a number of Duratech tools and so far I am pleased with all of them.

This review is on the electrical connector disconnect pliers from DURATECH. The photos show details of the pliers after unboxing and using them to unplug a connector from an EGR valve regulator solenoid. The listing provides a good overview of the features and advantages of these pliers. They are well made with a combination of a black finish and brushed surface. The grips have a rubberized textured coating for a non slip hold while using them. The jaws have serrated teeth that lock on to connectors firmly. These electrical disconnect pliers are not only good for wiring connections but will also work well for releasing squeeze type locking fuel and emission hose connectors and spring clamps on cooling system hoses as well. These electrical disconnect pliers are a very affordable solution for performing common mechanical, automotive and electrical tasks. I recommend that you consider a pair of these pliers from DURATECH for your toolbox!

This is the first DURATECH tool I have ever owned and it seems to be pretty good quality. I needed this to help disconnect some electrical connectors in my car and it worked good. The tool did come with a layer of oil on it, I assume this was to prevent rust and it wiped clean easily. The grippy part of the pliers is not my favorite, they do slip some when using.Overall, decent quality electrical disconnect pliers and a good price at $12.99.

I haven't seen anything like these before but if you work on your own cars you want one of these. These specialty pliers are designed to help remove the prewired plugs that have a tab that needs to be pushed down so you can disconnect the plug. I've wasted countless hours over the years struggling with these plugs. Not any more!I tested this on a few different plugs and it worked on all of them. It was a little tougher to use on smaller plugs but it work on all the ones I tested. The tool is well made and seems plenty durable. If you work on your own cars you want to get a set of these!
