I am a retired Union Carpenter and am not one to take the time write reviews good or bad. But I appreciate good tools and feel compelled to testify on behalf of Dubuque Clamps. Sort of like getting a new Gun out of the box, the smoothness of finish, threads, etc. Rolls from full open to tight with ease and quietness. I was going to include pics but see its well documented in other posts already. They projected 7 days for delivery and it showed in 5. Hurray for Iowa and the US. QUALITY at a fair price!

The best clamp yet for working on green wood for carving. I can set the clamp to grip at odd angles, which is critical when the wood is oddly shaped. The longer side pieces allow me to work across wide spaces as well. The clamps allow one to adjust the pressure on either end of the clamping arms, which is important as the wood being clamped may be curved, thus requiring different clamping forces at each end.

This is easily one of the most versatile workholding devices you can buy for woodworking. The design is pretty simple, but tried and true. Buy the 10 inch size for general woodworking, and get them in pairs. They can create a surprising amount of clamping force. This is also about the best quality screw clamp you can find in North America, right up there with the old Jorgensen brand. I have both and can attest to this. Handy as a shirt pocket and made in the USA.

My wood clamps are all over 30 years old, made of maple, and have been a pleasure to work with. When I needed more for a large project I looked over photo reviews of the sub 20 dollar versions from China. But their quality, material, and thread machining were all wrong. Small steel rods for tightening, undersized grips, split and filled oak instead of maple. Just kinda sad.I know what good tools can do to make work easier and enjoyable rather than a fight. These Dubuque clamps are a dream to use and will easily out live me. Out of the box they made me say WOW!Have a look at my pictures, perfectly square and finished in every detail, the 3/8 steel screws spin like butter and the large handles make release and tightening easy. These meet all my expectations and made in USA is a cool plus.
