I got this know knowing how much 1.9 lbs if silica translated to in volume. But that jug that holds them looks like a half gallon jug I have in my shop filled with kitty litter. I figure it probably is the same size. Nope… I was wrong. I feel like I got Temued. It’s a quart. I guess it says so if you zoom in on the image, but I didn’t. So… it feels like a lot of money for a quart sized bottle of beads.

Bought this to fill custom printed silica gel chambers to fit inside a BambuLab P1S AMS to increase the total volume of available silica gel to keep moisture down within the AMS chamber. Time will tell how effective the silica Gel actually is, but it arrived quickly, and the container was intact. Silica Gel beads are large enough to pour easily into the chambers and I was left with more than enough to refill all chambers again.

I bought this to put into a container where I store 3D printer filaments. Mine are currently at 11% humidity, and this seems to be working very well for the purpose I had in mind. It's supposed to be rechargeable, but I haven't saturated it enough yet to where I'd need to test that feature. So far, I'm very pleased with this desiccant.

Use this in a DIY filament storage box. Works great and keeps my filament at the right humidity.

I added these silica desiccant beads in nylon organza bags to the storage bins and bags for my 3d printing filament. I dried it to make sure it was ready go and it didn't really need to. The microwave re-charge instructions were really easy to follow and worked great too. just a small bag of desiccant will dry out a medium sized storage tote or a large plastic filament bag quickly. I needed to get different humidity sensors because this stuff really drops the humidity levels. The pic shows my old sensors stuck on 26% and the newer, more accurate gage reads 4%. I'm not sure how long they last but we'll see and I can post an update with more info. Highly recommended for drying 3d printer storage bins.

This has been great. I'm getting into 3d printing and one of the biggest problems is moisture damaging filament. I bought this to use to remove the moisture from the storage container after drying the filament to fight hygroscopic attack. It works great. I printed some spool inserts and poured them in and haven't had any problems with moisture since. Don't make the same mistake that I made. Fill them over a tub. I spilled what sounded to be a few beads but has been growing ever since releasing into the wilds of my house. I think they are breeding around the furniture. Looks like I never have to buy more. lol. If you have ever dealt with the disaster that results from a busted bean bag chair and the hellscape that is cleanup, you'll understand the concept. At least these are useful. All joking aside, I will definitely buy again, probably in a bigger size.

I'm using these for a dry box for 3D printing filaments. My old rechargeable desiccant packs were struggling to maintain 15% humidity. I think it's actually because I overheated them a while back when drying them ... anyways when I put these new beads in the humidity dropped crazy fast. from like 22% to 6% in around an hr and has just kept going down since then (it's probably slowed down because it's starting to actually pull water out of the filament. Not like you can't buy this stuff pre packaged but it's cheaper to buy in bulk, loose. I had a hard time finding sachets of any kind that would work and finally determined that I could just make my own packets with tea filters and a curling iron to heat seal the packets. they're not super durable - if anyone has a better idea, i'm all ears, but this works great - i used to have them in the box loose and every time i need to dry them it was such a hassle. anyways, I have a food dehydrator now that i'll probably use instead of the oven / microwave to prevent over heating and possible contamination. really like the non-color changing as hopefully there are fewer chemicals (although i gather the orange kind is safe). since i have a humidity sensor as the primary way to determine when it's time to recharge, there's no real need for color changing beads - and these are cheaper. according to the manufacture the non-color changing off the best performance. we'll see!

Silica gel works great for drying flowers. Have not yet tried 'reactivating' the gel for reuse. Docking one star because I did not receive any humidity indicating cards as the product description states (though I am not sure I would have used them if I received them - if you plan to use this product to dry flowers as I did, use common sense and check on them every day or two to prevent over-drying).
