Tips

  • Leaking
  • Check whether the pipes and pipe joints are damaged
  • Tighten the fixing screws of the booster pump
  • Check, clean or replace the filter device, keep the oil circuit unblocked, and avoid the valve core being blocked by foreign matter
  • Noisy
  • The gas in the pump must be evacuated, check the tightness of each joint, prevent air from entering
  • Check whether the resistance of the suction pipe is too high
  • Check whether the pressure adjustment of the safety valve is too high

I ordered this power steering pump in May 2022 and just got around to installing it around the beginning of August 2024.After a couple weeks I am happy with the performance of my power steering pump assembly. It’s a great idea to perform a power steering flush and replace the new power steering reservoir with a new one. Do this before replacing the PS pump. The PS reservoir has a built in particle filter and will help extend the life of the new PS pump when replaced.Have the front of the wheels up in air on Jack stands while performing the PS flush as to reduce stress on the rack and pinion assembly. This also a great time to check the serpentine belt and tensioner for wear as this will have a perfect opportunity to replace them. The PS pump was filled with PS fluid, be careful when removing the caps on either end as the fluid will rush out immediately. But I appreciate that it was filled with PA fluid to help with purging the system for air. After these couple weeks I also notice no more PS fluid leaking all over the left side of the engine bay.

Installed in Honda Accord. Worked really well. No issues. It has been in service for several months so a solid unit.

The pump has been in the car (2005 Accord 2.4L) for a few months now and is working perfectly. Comes with new O-rings which are sealing just fine. You will have to reuse the pulley off the old pump, but it’s easy enough to swap over. However, after installing the pump and running the car, I noticed the belt had jumped a couple ribs and was riding halfway off the pulley, on the raised inner edge. Tried multiple times to realign the belt with all the pulleys and double checked installation to no effect. Turns out that this pump was about 1/16” wider than the old pump and was sitting too far out from the engine, which didn’t allow the belt to run centred. Ended up having to grind off some material from the mount side of the pump before the belt would stay centred on the pulley. All things considered, good product, still working daily with no issues after about 5 months. Worth the money, but expect fitment issues. If I had to replace the pump I would spend the extra money on OEM to avoid the headache.

After having to request a replacement pump as the first one they sent failed, the second one also failed by destructing and sent metal shards through the entire system. The repair cost us $700 as we had to replace all the damaged components from this garbage pump failure. Car now runs great. Do yourself a favor, and if you don’t have $700 to waste, and just buy a quality pump—- not this POS. Foretold is forewarned.

I was nervous to buy parts on here, there are other reviews saying they didn't fit or didn't work. It was an exact replacement for my other power steering pump and works great. In fact the whole 7 years I've owned my car, my power steering pump must not have worked properly because it now turns effortlessly. It's never done that before just constant whining. This one doesn't whine at all. Glad I bought it, way cheaper than the parts store.

My car is quiet now. Removal and installation was a straight forward, plenty of DIY video.Recommend flush your steering system, I used 3 quarts of PS fluid. Plenty of DIY video also.

I got this to replace the pump in my 2010 Accord. It was easy to install and was accurate to the previous pump. When I purchased this pump it was a good value and was recommended by a auto technician. Also a bonus is this was a new one, not a refurbish, and didn't need to return the old pump. Hopefully I never have to buy another one but I do; I'll do this one again.

It really pissed me off. I waited almost a wk for it to fix my car and now it arrived broken. It’s a pain to send back and wait for the new one to come.

Breeze to install in my 2004 Honda Accord EX 4 cyl. The hardest part of the job was putting the serpentine belt back on. This not a rebuilt unit. The case looks and feels like OEM. The fit was perfect for the two bolts that hold the pump to the engine, the two bolts that attach the high pressure hose, and for the pulley nut. Couldn't ask for more. Steering is a bit lighter than with the OEM pump, which is a good thing. Will it hold up of time? Only time will tell. The OEM pump started leaking at 114K miles.

Installed it today, works fine right now. Hopefully it will last longer...it’s been only few months and it’s making a lot of noise. Sicks

I replaced the power steering pump on my son's 2008 honda accord with the one from drivestar. It fit perfectly and looked exactly like the honda pump I took off. It has only been a day but it seems to work much better than the pump we took off (we bought the car used, so I don't know what a new honda power steering feels like). If that changes, I will update this review.Using this pump saved a lot of money. I was able to do the complete repare for $160. That includes purchasing a new serpentine belt, and a tool for the tensioner. I could not be happier. At the time we looked on amazon, the genuine honda power steering pump was around $500. The entire job took my son and I just over an hour to do. The job could be done with just one person very easily, but my son and I are not very mechanically inclined. i watched an execellent youtube video by NutzAboutBolts for changing a 2007 honda powersteering pump. Very easy job to do.Here are the list of parts I used to do the job:Drivestar 21-5495 powersteering pumpGearWrench 3680 Ratcheting Wrench Serpentine Belt Tool https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0002WSFTO/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1Gates K070721 Serpentine Belt/Fan Belt https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00498ALQC/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1Honda Genuine Fluid 08206-9002 Power Steering Fluid - 12 oz. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B006YU7G8E/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
